I think the main problem is, Solskjaer will try and play attractive expansive football, and we simply do not have the quality in our squad to be able to line up like this and at this level we will get punished. Say what you like about Malky's negative tactics, he made us difficult to break down. Yes the football was pretty ugly and uninspiring, but at least we would be competitive in matches and make things difficult for opposition players. I think now, we will try and attack in every game, very similar to Holloway's philosophy at Blackpool when they came up, and we all know what happened there.

I am not sure that buying young norwegians is going to make the immediate impact on our squad that we need right now. Daehli looks a good prospect as does Eikrem, but to expect these youngsters to make a mark straight away in the worlds best league is asking a lot. I like Solskjaer, respect his football career and feel one day he will be a top manager, but I think him coming in at January, to a team that he has inherited is going to be a step too far. If he joined us in the summer and had a chance to make his mark on the team then I think things would be different, but as things are at the moment, I can't see us staying up.

We are a team of hard-workers, who are going to win games and pick up points by working harder than our opposition. To come in and completely change the footballing philosophy at this stage of the season is VERY risky, and a move that I think will backfire. I hope I will be proved wrong!! :ayatollah:

Many good points.
As a Norwegian I might be too positive on Oles behalf and his skills as a trainer, but I am quite confident that if he gets through to the guys allready in the Cardiff squad, they will not be relegated.Ole is very very good at teambuilding and to motivate players to play with confidence and focusing on improving every day.
I am really positive about this, and I probably haven't enjoyed following any team in PL as much as I do now with Cardiff!

Honestly,to me Moldes playing under Ole wasn't that crazy forward minded. In my opinin his philosophy has more in common with the way Man United played under Alex Ferguson his last 5 years.
In Norway Molde was a top team, but now he has something else to work with.I know he wants his team to play quite similar both away and at home, but I think this will be a new experience for him on how to approach the game against Man City who at the moment might be one of the best teams in the world.I do not expect to see Ole have the same gameplan towards Man City away as they did against West Ham at home.

I don't get surprised if Cardiff looses both against Man City and United and will be at the bottom of the Premiership by end January, but I am sure going to enjoy watching Cardiff really have a go at them!!
If Zaha or Fabio comes in and maybe Eikrem or Daehli gets a chance, then expect there to be some hungry guys on the pitch wanting to show Man United a thing or two :thumbright:

There used to be a time when City supporters used to back their team and players even when they were going through difficult times. A lot on this forum are slagging off their own players so much, there doesn't seem a need for the away teams to bring any supporters with them, we can give our players far more abuse than the opposition fans.

My nephew(cameron brockway)has a scholarship with city and has met and trained alongside a lot of first teamers, told me months ago that he was indeed one of the fastest at the club.I will not say the fastest, but my nephew was indeed impressed with his speed for a big lad.

Physically, he has the foundations to become a top player. Didn't he used to be a winger before having a major growth spurt and becoming a forward? His first touch looks a bit wayward at the moment but if he can work on the technical side of the game and get a bit of confidence back, he could still be quality. Let's hope this is the case!! How's your nephew getting on anyway? :ayatollah:

He could come good (I doubt it from what I ahve seen so far) but we needed someone to put the ball in the back of the net from August 2013 not August 2015 or 2016.

The boy is a raw talent. He is the fastest player at Cardiff and with his strength and presence, if he can develop the technical side of his game he has the makings of a real handful at this level. I just hope working with Ole will give him a much needed confidence boost and he starts to make an impact. Agreed though that Malky was to blame over this signing. 8m for a player who is not ready at this level yet is a very poor judgement.

Fastest player at Cardiff? In what? Egg and spoon race?

He runs like hes got a wooden leg!!!

hahahha i swear it came out in pre season and a couple of players came out and said cornelius was the fastest player. I hope I haven't made this up

Bolt is quite fast to,and showed desire to play for Man U ..Fergie of course snapped him up

If we go down its because Malky spent money on players who arent good enough to contribute rather than on players who are good enough to contribute to our cause.

Brayford £2m
Cornelius £8m

Thats £10m there + wages and bonuses spent on players who are worthless to our aims this season of staying up and are not contributing.

Its a joke. If we go down now its because Malky and Moody messed up. If we stay up, its because Solskjaer did enough with the backing of Tan to quickly fix the cock ups that Malky and Moody made.

I found it interesting to notice that Cornelius and Velikonja have the same agents - Beratung durch Familienangehörigen.

Not saying there is anything sinister as they are a well known and high profile agency.

I would also add Simon Lappin to the wasted money list.

The strange thing about Cornelius and Brayford was that they were signed on 1.7.13 and 26.7.13 respectively. This was surely enough time to acclimatise themselves with a new country, new training schedules in preparation for our first league game on 17.8.13.

These are players that were chosen and wanted by Malky, yet within a short while Malky didn't want Brayford and Cornelius for such a large transfer fee and wage seems to have not adapted yet, though he has only played 113 minutes in the league.

It is still too early to say too much about Cornelius, but it appears as though since his injuries his stride pattern and running style have changed slightly, along with lacking in confidence with his touch with the ball. He seems tentative.

Over a short distance, say 2-5 or even 10 yards, then Cornelius being a big lad would not be the fastest, but over a greater distance, due to his longer stride pattern then he would likely be fast.
