Also I chose Chelsea those days because all my friends where either Liverpool, Man United or Arsenal fans, and I wanted to go for a club that nobody I knew was a fan of. I also like BLUE!!!

Solskjær is for most football fans in Norway THE hero (even Norwegian Scousers) So most of us want the best for him.
PS! Cardiff is now my 2'nd team in the Premiership.

Chelsea ??????

Oh I see you chose them as they had no following, same as in the UK then  :)

Horrible little club

Another Norwegian here, adding to the flock of immigrants to your lovely little corner of the Internet. In truth a Liverpool-supporter, but with an interest in football in general and Norwegians representing us in the beautiful game. Reckon I will post whenever I might have something to add to the banter, though that might not be very often. Good luck to all you Bluebirds for the rest of the season, and may you forever be BLUE!

Anyway ( moving on..) just to demonstrate that it is not only our Norwegian friends who are capable of writing lengthy and insightful posts, here are my brother's thoughts on today's game:-

CCFC v West Ham

So a New Year has dawned but nothing much has changed, with a club in crisis playing at the CCS. The big surprise though is it's not us! Tomorrow we welcome the Hammers on the back of a morale-sapping disastrous set of results that has left scribes interrogating the footie lexicon to adequately describe their predicament following a 5-0 'trouncing' by Forest in the FA Cup and their 6-0 'drubbing' at the hands of Man City in the League Cup. Time then to 'concentrate on the league' where a run of one win out of 13 has seen them drop into the relegation zone with Big Sam 'on borrowed time' should the buoyant Bluebirds beat the blubbering bubble-blowers.

Allardyce is of course one of the games more 'colourful' characters - a much travelled manager whose career has seen more hastily abandoned clubs than Tiger Woods in flight from his missus.

The larger-than-life masticating maverick is a controversial character infamous for his starring role in the Panorama expose Undercover: Football's Dirty Secret, during which two agents separately claimed to have paid bungs to Allardyce for arranging transfers. Allardyce's outrage at this libellous slur on his reputation upset him so much that he was quite unable to follow up his threat to take his accusers to court, preferring instead to defend his integrity by poutily refusing to talk to the BBC. From which some people inferred his guilt. As guilty in fact 'as a puppy sitting next to a pile of poo' (Blackadder)

Which brings us to our own young pup, a pedigree pooch, the Norwegian Molde Hound they call 'Ole' whose doe-eyed demeanour belies a steely resolve and a bite worse than his bark, as befitting a man given the moniker 'The Baby-Faced Assassin'.

The opposition are in disarray and although we've had problems of our own in recent weeks these have resulted from circumstances beyond the control of the players who've responded well and can hold their heads high. There's no reason to think that the fans and players won't quickly get behind the new man, notwithstanding the debt owed to his proud predecessor who will always command respect for the dignified way he dealt with the fall-out from Tan's ego-driven idiocy.

Solskjaer has started well, controlling his early exchanges with the press with a disarming affability and an eloquence that would put most premiership managers to shame. This and an unlikely victory at Newcastle in his first game in charge have already endeared him to the fans who sense a wind of change blowing around Sloper Road as we enter a new era with renewed hope.

Ole has been quick to take advantage of Tan the Cantankerous' newly rediscovered largesse, having already secured funding for three names that look like winning lines from the World Scrabble Championship for the Partially Sighted - Magnus Wolf Eikrem, Mama Biram Diouf and in view of recent events the appropriately named Mats Moeller Daehli - a signing bordering on the surreal.

Meanwhile Big Sam has been given the dreaded vote of confidence from the West Ham board which is about as reassuring as a handshake from Albert Pierrepoint. Mind the trap-door Sam.

Hello, another new Norwegian member here.I think Cardiff have got quite a big new fanbase over here, and I believe it will continue to grow:)
I think it comes from the fact that Ole Gunnar has always seemed to be a really good guy.I can't remember see him talking shit about any other human being, and I will be surprised if he change that now.I think you allready have seen in some interviews what kind of guy he is.He is straightforward and honest.Passionate about the game and very focused on hardworking and development, both of his own skills and the players.I saw him as a VERY intelligent football player when he still played, and I think I see all the same intelligence in his coaching.
I honestly believe you have got a coach in Solskjær that could reach the toplist of international trainers in just a few years, if he keeps his confidence in what he is doing, and passion for the game and development of his own skills as a coach. He is still quite young for a coach, and now training Cardiff will be his biggest test so far.
Lets not forget the co-trainers he brought With him.I think they all had a big part in Moldes succes here in Norway.I think they worked very well together, and that also points to one of the other key strenghts of Solskjær I think,he seems to be a very good teamplayer.I think he focuses on inspiring and backing up people around him.

Well, probably enough bragging of Sunny:) I might make it too difficult for him to follow up
Today is his first exam, and I am very excited to follow you guys and learn more about the town, fans, players, aso.
It will also be interesting to see if Eikrem is up to this level. Its always difficult to predict, but Sunny knows him very well,so I am confident that he at least over time will add some extra flavour to the team.

Looking forward to the game in just a couple of hours!
Last 10 years I really haven't followed Premier League that closely, but now I have a new favourite team there in Cardiff City! :)

Cheers,
Rune

Just another thought from me.
I could be interested in sharing my views on at least players that we know well in Norway, but then when loking at say Eikrem, there is allready 27-ish threads about him.Difficult to know which one I should post in
In some Norwegian Club forums there often is threads with just the persons name as a heading, and then everybodies views about that guy gets gathered there. Has it been tried and maybe not worked that well?

Forever Blue, you asked about views on Mats Moller Dæhli, here are some of mine.
He seems like a very big talent in a Norwegian scale, but its always difficult to predict what happens to great talents. Some stops there, and some continue to develop and take new steps towards a higher stable level.
Its also difficult to know the difference between the Norwegian League and Premier League which many say has the highest level of pace and speed of any leagues in the world.I guess maybe only Bundesliga is up there With PL or maybe a bit higher at the moment?

It looked to me that Dæhli adapted quickly to the pace and speed here in Norway. He also seemed to develop during the 2013 season, and he looks quite technical for Norwegian standards. Its not easy to take the ball away from him without making a free kick. And according to one measurement I saw he had the highest percentage of hits with passes to team-mates of all players in the Norwegian League last year.He gives 100%,works hard, and seems like an intelligent football player who is a good teamplayer and sometimes makes those brilliant passes that can open up the opponents defense. Those brilliant passes is also one of Eikrems strenghts in my opinion.
One of the other things that stands out for me about Dæhli is how grown up and focused he seems to be for being only 18.To me it seems that he allready have decided that he is going to work very hard to become as good as he can.He seems humble and down to earth, but also have a bit of necesarry confidence in his skills so far.
I have no idea if he at the moment is good enough to start games for Cardiff City, but I guess if we get to see Eikrem play today that will give us Norwegians some good insight how a good player in the Norwegian top League can perform in the higher level PL.
