Sorry that's just not true. His best season for us, when he got 25 goals and umpteen assists, he played in an advanced position wide on the left. Malky rarely played him on the left having decided to convert him to a deep lying central midfielder as soon as he arrived.

He's far too slow to play on the left at this level and its shown time after time. To be honest he could do with a rest so its a good thing having Eikrem

Similar to Charlie Adam that season.. Can't take away the quality of those freekicks though... given more protection at the back free reign to control the game more and a bit of a confidence boost and he could be a good mid prem table level player. but becuase he doesnt go gung ho into challenges people dont rate him
