Do you think Newcastle would have got the same support being in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th divisions for 50 years - of course not.
City used to have massive crowds. 50,000 + in years gone by. Rugby is still Wales number one sport, but that is changing and changing fast!

I tend to disagree with that. The media have emphasised rugby and make a song and dance whenever an international game is on. It's a well known fact that there are more football pitches registered in Wales than rugby pitches, read into that what you will. I'd say rugby is a South Wales phenomena.
