He is 20 so I will give him the benefit of doubt, can't adapt quickly and he will learn and progress.

Re: CORNELIUS TRANSFER????

Sun Jan 05, 2014 3:13 am

For christ sake give the kid a chance. I have no doubt whatsoever thst next season he will be a much better player and then the season after that will be an integral part if the starting eleven. Remember Romelu Lukaku anyone? He was bought for £20m at the age of 18 and because he didnt play much at all and because of the 5-10 mins once in a blue moon subs appearances, everybody was saying that he was crap and he was a waste of money. But, he stuck with it and the next season got a move to West Brom where he was playing week in and week out. Obviously because of that his confidence sky rocketed and the goals came and his overall play got much better. He finished as their top scorer that season with 17+ goals and went back to Chelsea a completely different player. But, with a change of manager and a slight falling out, he left Chelsea again and joined a much better established Premier League club in Everton on loan for the season. This season he has improved even more and has scored 7-10 goals for them while playing nearly every game. Now he is one of the most exciting strikers in the league abd probably would be first choice for any of the other sides in the division, outside of the top 5/6. I would love him playing for us. But, we have a player like him in Cornelius who is going to take time to find his feet in this country, god he is only 20 years of age, some people need to realise that. It is amazing how much confidence really is an important attribute for a striker and strikers who are lacking that at the moment are not able to show their best form. I will gladly give Cornelius all the time in the world to settle down here. If in 3 years he is the aame then obviously he is not the player Malky thought he was. The only reason that people are on his back so much is because of the fee that was paid for him, cause if it was £2-3m then nobody would care as much, which i suppose is understandable. However, the fee what we paid for him is not his fault one little bit, it was his club that decided his price and it was our club who paid it.

So, remember this day and message about my prediction for Cornelius, so check this same date next year and i guarantee that he will be a much better player, scoring important goals for us and much more confident. Then check this date in 2 years time and see that he will be for us what Michu is for Swansea, as he is banging in goals left, right and centre and he is a crowd favourite. Unless he is sold sometime during those 2 years. :)

Come on Andreas son, prove all the doubters wrong.

Dont forget about Daniel Sturridge either who struggled at Man City, went on loan to Bolton when they were in the Prem. He scored goals for fun for them. He joined Chelsea on a free started now and again and scored a few before he became a bit of a regular until Liverpool spent £12m on him and since he joined them he has played nearly every game (apart from his current injury spell), he has scored bag fulls of goals and has formed an amazing strike partnership with Luis Suarez. It took Sturridge a while to get going and it turned out that playing regularly for Bolton on loan totally restarted his career cause as his confidence grew by each match the goals started to come as well.

Re: CORNELIUS TRANSFER????

Sun Jan 05, 2014 3:49 am

I'm sorry but people still sticking up for Cornelius are clueless idiots. I will never forgive Cornelius for his pathetic lack of effort against Sunderland where he refused to close a defender down once, allowing their defenders to leisurely walk the ball into our half to start yet another attack. I went to Accrington and when you hear Accrington fans chanting "what a waste of money" along with his clear lack of effort and desire on the pitch to put in any sort of attempt to do something, it's obvious he will never improve with his pathetic attitude and as a result, he will never make it as a footballer for us.

I'm assuming those sticking up for Cornelius didn't see him at Forest Green, Cheltenham, Accrington etc, he's a footballer of very limited ability but the sad thing is, he won't even TRY to improve and make a difference with us. I watched Rudy's performance for Blackburn today, putting himself about, being a nuisance and a threat, but the difference is Rudy improved with us because he did TRY to work at his game. Cornelius simply doesn't have Rudy's attitude, I wish we still had Rudy, who will always give us something different off the bench ahead of a lazy, ineffective Cornelius every time!

You moan cos he didnt close someone down allowing them to attack us.

every time he was bought on we were in malky mode in our own box.

You defend malky though, his tactics caused teams to relentlessley attack us, but thats ok cos he pumps his fist

I'm a realist, get your head out of your arse. I will never abuse cornelius at a game I will always get behind a player, but on here which is the best place to express your views as it does not effect a players performance, I will tell the truth, and the truth is Cornelius it utter garbage and should be given a one way ticket back to Copenhagen

Re: CORNELIUS TRANSFER????

Rudy looks the better player. Needs a good preseason before we judge

Re: CORNELIUS TRANSFER????

Sun Jan 05, 2014 2:49 pm

Trouble is that we need goals from our forwards now. We can't afford to give Cornelius too many games to prove himself as, if he doesn't, we are then right in the shit. What we need is someone who can just slot in up front and complement Campbell. Cornelius does not seem to be that player. He lacks pace, he does not chase the ball and all he really seems to offer is height.

It is all very well saying give him a chance but at what cost.

Sorry but its score or go.

Re: CORNELIUS TRANSFER????

Been following this forum for some time, mainly cause of Cornelius(Im from Denmark and have watched allmost all hes games at senior level)

He is a very talented player and even with his size, he is technically gifted and fast. Been scoring all kinds of goals, and has no real weaknesses

He only had 1 season at senior level at Copenhagen but already shown amazing potential for such a young age

He was much higher rated than the last couple of quality strikers leaving the Danish league, Dame N Doye and Yura Movsisyan ( topscorers in the Russian League atm)

Hes former manager at Copenhagen Ariel Jacbos, who have coached both of them, considered him to be as talented as Lukaku

He had a very bad start with his injury and hes clearly still not fully fit, but he hardly have been playing enough minutes to prove him self

I realise u need someone to score goals for you right now, but in time im 100 % sure he will prove to be a very good signing for Cardiff CIty

Sorry for my spelling, i hope its some what readable :laughing6:

The negativity on this guy f*cking amazes me!! But after over 40 years of watching football it makes it clearer by the minute as to why there are no brilliant or even excellent welsh managers!!! Cos we are crap at judging players.my nephew has scolarship at city and informs me from experience that he is one of the fastest players in the squad, yet amatuer wannabe managers(fans?) no better! Amazing.why do fans constantly slag our players? The last ten mins of a game are the hardest to make any impact as a sub, let alone being expected to be the saviour, after the team hasnt created f**k all for the 80 mins before coming on.I hope ogs gets his confidence up and he shuts a few negative tossers up,by banging a few in!! Blooooooobirds!!

One of the best yet simplest posts I've read on a forum in a long time mate. Thats exactly the issue. If you're an established club you spend on the future because you already have the quality in the first team. We don't have that. We were buying for our first team and it should have been quality.

But Accrington wasn't a NOTHING game. Against Accrington, their fans were chanting "what a waste of money" and then Cornelius got injured because he had a terrible first touch, resulting in him stretching for the loose ball and getting clogged. As I said in my initial post, I'm not questioning his ability just yet as he needs time to settle, but I cannot accept his lack of effort and work rate when on the pitch and it seems I have seen him play more times than you to make a judgement on his lack of effort so far, which is very disappointing to say the least.

Apparently, Ole has even said he is currently unfit and overweight, which is a concern considering he returned from injury weeks ago, so hopefully Ole can sort his fitness out and then he will actually be able to get around the pitch and show some effort at least.
