Not bad for an 8 hour journey up north in the 3rd round of the FA Cup.

MalagaCF wrote:Not bad considering after xmas and new year and last 4 away games have been Liverpool, arsenal, man city and man u. Just shows Newcastle is not attractive in the cup when many sides put out reserve players anyway 8-)

It was attractive in the Championship, after they got relegated. This season, in the cup, no big deal. Reason I'm going is that I have not been there before. Not sure if I can make the trip up there at the end of the season, but hope to make Sunderland.

All things considered, not such a bad turnout, especially considering the four away games mentioned above. Bit like the WHU League Cup game, really.

Personally, I think that a cup run could be useful. Give some of the squad members a game, and give OGS a chance to look at the whole squad in competitive games. :ayatollah:

BITD, the 3rd round of the FA Cup was a big day. Shame to see it diminished.

384??? 384????? Wow!!! People keep telling me what a massive club you are, yet you can only muster 384 fans for an FA Cup tie against a fellow PL club on a Saturday. That's not great is it?

Didn't enjoy the last trip up there, they were out in force that time, no doubt they be looking for it again. :x

Dai, theyve been pm me, I told them No one is going, they are shocked. I am not shocked, we usually play second string/youth team and dont try to win the Cup game. After Macclesfield away that hurt me. good luck to everyone who goes tomorrow, u never know Ole might surprise us

Who's been pm you Annis, the Geordies? I'm going, along with my niece, with the supporters' club. Not been up there before. The last league game up there was on a Friday night, and I couldn't make it.

Including tomorrow, it will be three first time visits for me over Christmas. Anfield, the Emirates, and St James's Park.

Should we be careful up there? Don't really know what to expect!

Geordies have been pm me. Yes be careful, stay away from their pubs

Annis I was at the game in the championship away when we got an absolute thumping and was very surprised by the aftermath of that game as we went up Thursday met hundreds of real Geordie fans sat in some real toon pubs through and through all weekend and after the game it went silly! But even before the game we were sat in shearers beforehand up until 10 mins before kickoff with no problems at all and even that night out on the town we had no issues just a bit of madness after the game which the police contributed to with their idiocy!! They were sending me and my mates the opposite way from our hotel right past the big pub on the hill just outside te ground which is the pub we were told to avoid! They also parked the family buses of our club outside there as well which got stones throwed at them then a few of ours put the pub windows through and police eventually turned up and locked them in the pub very poor policing in my opinion started that off as generally from the Thursday until the game and even beyond we hand no problems and met some great people up therr
