It's 100m people not £100m and even if we're in the lower reaches of the EPL it doesn't matter. If you hadn't noticed we've dominated the media with different stories over the short time we've been in the EPL (especially during the international breaks - work it out?) and that's on top of the television coverage to 643m households every week. He won't sell the club, just part of the club, while retaining the controlling share. Look at his business empire, he does not get involved with anything for a quick buck. He is not interested in the money, just the Kudos of being successful, as he is one of only a handful of billionaires to give more than half of their wealth away to charity.

Correct and don't forget the floatation of the business shortly. See the likes of other Asians entering the red party.

I was talking about the £100m he has put into the club and stating that he could get a lot more direct (and positive) advertising for that sort of money, therefore the argument that he wanted the club to promote his mall is flawed, Also the press he is getting is very negative and the team is not doing well so again this does not promote a good image for his mall.

More like £140m and rising, which VT will recoup in the share flotation. As for publicity, 'there is no such thing as bad publicity' is a well used phrase. Other Asian businessmen who are just like VT with no knowledge of football will look at all the publicity and think that if they invest in CCFC they could market their own company through the club. This is why VT has not exploited the full potential of advertising with CCFC with his own companies until he has floated the shares. He will recoup his money, keep control and then when he has already enticed new investors he will market his Berjaya group. This is the sensible option and VT is no fool where business is concerned. As for direct advertising I read somewhere that Berjaya spend 200m a year on advertising (the currency was not specified - could even be Malaysian Ringit), which although seems a lot, it is on a turnover of over £5 billion per annum. Therefore, if the currency was Sterling the £200m only equates to 4% of the annual turnover and that can be offset against tax. Your direct £100m advertising verses free or cheaper advertising for as long as VT controls CCFC. No contest the CCFC investment wins.

About what you've posted Popeye, it's interesting but it's people like you and others who accepted the rebrand initially that allowed for this to be possible, it's all very well saying you've now seen the light but it was f*cking obvious that it wouldn't be possible to change us back to blue without getting rid of the parasite. So on the whole I agree with what your saying and I'm glad people have finally decided that enough is enough. :ayatollah:

you think a lot about yourself and this "article" dont you!

to think someone would spend so much money on a football club, change the colour of its shirts just to advertise a fairground ride is pure fantasy

You say VT will never change the club back to Blue because of a red dragon rollercoaster in a chinese shopping mall.... flawed argument.

He will never change us back to blue because it would be an admission of being wrong, which i dont think we will see of him

VT bought CCFC after the plans for the mall and rollercoaster were already in place, so how is it a flawed argument? The Berjaya Group spends a fortune on advertising and the EPL is one of the best conduits for that purpose. Why do you think VT bought CCFC, for his love of a game he knows very little about, or to make money, yet he gives more than half his wealth to charity? Even now he is seeking the publicity with the recent articles about Cornelius and Medel, which is surely not something anyone who was after money would be doing, as it will undermine their confidence, reduce their perceived valuation and is detrimental to the club. Fighting VT over the colour change is UNFORTUNATELY giving him just what he wants - PUBLICITY. I only hope that after the share flotation he loses interest and moves on and as for me thinking a lot about myself and this article, well if that was the case I would be using my own name on here.

well what the f**k has that got to do with us??

I would believe you if it was called the "cardiff dragons shopping mall"

you are talking so vague its unbelievable. The dragon and the colour red are synonomous with China, as they are with Wales, he doesnt need to rebrand something over here just put up a few posters around the mall ffs!!

If anything, Cardiff posters and the like in the mall are advertising the club and the premier league, not the mall!!

agree with you Paul..........its a well thought out post..but i dont think the mall is it at all..........i do though think he sees us building support in that part of the world and he does 100% believe red is easier to market and draw a following for than blue is,and he is right...........i dont think though that he saw all this ridicule coming. IF he has employed PR people to improve his image over here BLUE has to be a huge part of their advice.......
