I support CCFC. Not a chairman, Not an owner, not a player and not a manager.

I haven't set foot in that stadium since we changed our colours and that was by far the most difficult decision I have ever made in my life. Giving up something that was such a massive part of my life since 1975-76, including 8 years of RAF service where I still only missed a handful of games. 68 other people joined my son and I in refund requests for our season tickets and from the start we were accused of only buying them for the League Cup final tickets and not being true fans for giving up the one thing outside our families that felt like a family.

No wonder some people reacted angrily to all the people that mocked them and carried on like nothing had happened. I can think of people I used to communicate with on a daily/weekly basis that haven't said a word to me since. On Saturday some of them were calling for Tan's head to be paraded on a spike from the roof of the Cardiff City Stadium.

When Malky arrived, he had a very sparse squad and yet managed to get us to a League Cup Final and the play-offs in his first season and then win the Championship in his second. We are out of the relegation zone and have beaten Man City and Swansea and got a point against United at home. I think he's been amazing but I can not begin to understand that more fuss was made over a manager who had been there for just over two seasons was more important and worth showing a bit of passion for than our colours and identity that had stood for over 100 years.

If thousands would've asked for a refund, there is no way we would've had the tickets refunded, Tan would've realised we wanted to be blue and that we were not going to let the money men do whatever they wanted with our club. He'd put enough money in to realise that the only way to get it back was to reach the premier league and would've carried on with his investment, he's manipulative, arrogant and knows how to get what he wants but not stupid. Instead the RED carpet was rolled out in a parade of fireworks and song and the permission was given for him to do whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted.

I've never called anyone a plastic, not really sure why new fans are not encouraged and welcomed with open arms and minds (we spent far too long with embarrassing attendances) but I'm dismayed and disappointed by many fans that I would've thought would've fought for anything to retain the identity that we all loved and revered side by side for many years would let it go without a fight.

Givng up your seat for a plastic who would most likely wear red seems to defeat the idea don't you think.

Surely people can see this for what it is, this is not confirmation of Vincent Tan having a U turn, this is simply a case of the Chairman managing to get a small extension on the three month stay of execution that has been in place since October.

If Tan thinks Liverpool was a problem that will go away with this oh so generous stay of execution, then he is more deluded that we thought.

The Chairman is crapping it "no banners for Tan out, have banners saying talk, talk" yeh OK.Best of luck, he's opened the cage to the bear pit, now deal with it.

Malky holds all the aces here,Malky will only decide to stay out of loyalty to his players and staff and his genuine love for the fans. What's Malky's worse scenario- get his full pay in one lump sum for the next three years and then walk straight into another possibly even better job.

A lot of people reading this will see my stance as a U turn, well my conscience is clean and time over I would take the same stance all over again, along with the majority of other fans we accepted the rebrand as a deal to save the club, and he got away with it.

If enough people had felt that strongly opposed to it, then what we witnessed in Liverpool would have been seen at every game, or on the other hand huge gaps in the stadium would have sent the message loud and clear.

A good few people couldn't accept the rebrand and walked away, and fair play to them, those that walked away but constantly criticise those that didn't and those that have a different view to them are another matter.

This adage of all these people on waiting lists etc being called plastics really doesn't wash, haven't we as a club been crying out for these fans to come in numbers and now they have people look down their noses at them.

I was then and still am grateful for the Malaysian's coming in when they did, I don't remember too many dissenters then, in fact some of the biggest critics Hmmm were pictured providing a welcome group standing in the club foyer with Malaysian flags etc.and nothing wrong with that because it saved us.

The rebrand was a move to far for some and for others a price and sacrifice we would accept, not simply to get into the Premiership as some would claim, but simply to stay in business, the HMRC weren't bluffing, they were out to liquidate us, not admin and ten points deducted but closure, yeh, rename, reform at best calor Gas South League, but more likely Welsh League division three.

We had no cards in our hands to play poker, but now I feel we have cards and a few aces in our hand, Tan is to deep into us to simply wreck us out of spite, he needs his money back and to get that he needs to sell us as a going concern, hopefully the new investors wwill be a bit more knowledgeable with regard to football and culture and dealing with people, as fans we can but hope, but what ever the situation is at present, it is still a hundred times better than it was three years ago, the roller coaster is till rolling strap yourself in.

Walking away to me was handing over the club. Keeping blue in the stadium was the only answer I could see.

So we both wanted the same and took different options.

I still maintain (and I may be wrong) that if thousands had used their feet and asked for refunds the all conquering VT would've backed down and we'd still be blue now and you wouldn't have had to put up with fans in red making you feel sick. He'd sunk enough money in to not want to lose it IMHO. The premier league would've been his only way of getting it back. For you and many like you, I'm glad you stayed and got to enjoy last season, it must've been amazing. Any fans who pay to watch their team and then reaps the rewards of a season like that is getting what they deserve, in any colour of any club.

My son and I turning up in blue wouldn't have meant an iota to VT, the only thing that could affect him was money and we didn't sell-out that many games last season, therefore the afore-mentioned red fan that may have taken my seat could've had another in the ground.

I didn't enjoy last season at all. Yes I went to some games and cheered when we scores, the 90 minutes of football was a release from the rebrand. However 2 minutes after the game it was back to the status quo.

Personally I feel Tan would have payrolled last season if we had a full or empty stadium. He had already invested too much and was not going to let that go to waste. We were a club ready to take the title not a team that had avoided a relegation battle.

I querstion if the money would effect him. Gate money has little effect compared to TV dough. I feel we could have called his bluff by refusing the rebrand.

It's a pity you couldn't enjoy what should've been up there with '83, '88, '93 etc (if not better due to the level and reward on offer).

The rest are good points, well made and I think you're right about calling his bluff...sad then that we didn't.

Imagine this situation

A good, honest man falls on hard times. His is a long standing, well respected family which has deep roots in his community. Everyone has great affection for him but they too are all poor but honest people.

This man has a 6 year old daughter and his impoverished situation makes it more and more difficult to look after her. He loves her deeply but fears he cannot provide for her.

One day a kindly, apparently wealthy gentleman from far away in a distant land learns of our hero's predicament and offers to help. He explains that his is a childless marriage and he and his wife have always dreamed of having a little girl.

This kindly gentleman offers to look after the little girl and bring her up in a luxurious lifestyle, ensuring she enjoys the kind of secure and joyous future only serious money can provide.

He takes the little girl away and true enough spends a kimg's ransom on her. However quite soon our hero gets some bad news. The kindly gentleman suddenly tells him that he doesn't like the way the little girl dresses and changes her appearance to something unrecognisable. Then more bad news; he tells the man he has changed the girl's name to something more appropriate befitting her new found status.

Finally, worst of all the rich man tells the poor man that now the girl is his daughter the poor man must never have any contact with the girl. It seems she has forgotten who the man is and would not recognize him anyway.

The poor man, deep in despair, could finally only wish he had not made thw mistake of being taken in by this tyrant and he rued for evermore his failure to fight for his rights.

Remind you of anything?

Superb post. Sums up many of feelings and also experiences perfectly.

I'm a fellow boycotter and together with my 2 sons haven't been back since the West Ham play off game in May 2012. I won't return until our long established identity is restored. I'm fully aware that my personal protest counts for little in the grand scheme of things but I knew from the off that not one penny of mine would go towards funding Tan's rebrand.

I'm also a realist and fully aware that we all see things slightly differently and all have tipping points. There are no 'superfans.' Never have been. We all see things differently.

That said, the almost total lack of solidarity and the shameful strangling at birth of any meaningful protest by those with extreme counter opinions, eighteen months ago, was a huge source of disappointment.

I'm delighted to see City fans finally prepared to take on Vincent Tan but in all honesty I believe the reason for the 'rising' we are seeing is a little bizarre. Mackay, nice chap that he is, is simply passing through - Cardiff City is a staging post for him. The blue colour our team traditionally wore at home was in place several years before our forefathers and City fans went over the top at the battle of the Somme. Cardiff City were referred to as 'the bluebirds' in local media, before the Great Depression even took place. In short, that historic blue shirt and bluebird emblem are absolute fundamentals of who we are as a club and as a City too for that matter. Yet Cardiff City fans have got themselves into more of a lather over a young manager in only his third year at the club than they did about some casual vandalism of core parts of the club's identity.

I'm pleased that Cardiff City fans have, belatedly, found their voices but the circumstances for 'the revolt,' do strike me as a little odd.

A good few people couldn't accept the rebrand and walked away, and fair play to them, those that walked away but constantly criticise those that didn't and those that have a different view to them are another matter.

People who held a different view to Gwyn have been bullied ever since...

I have to say this is one hell of a post

But just how the promise of riches can change people.

My pal and I have been fans of City for over 40 years. We've gone to countless matches home and away and been Bluebirds crazy through thick and thin. I've always known him to be City obsessed. However, although we'll never fall out over this, we are polar opposites over Tan and the rebrand. We sit next to each other in the stadium, he in his red, myself in blue. When it first happened he took to it enthusiastically, buying up shitloads of the red dross. His argument was we needed to wholeheartedly embrace this new Messiah otherwise ,given our parlous finances, it would be curtains for us. My initial reaction was to boycott, but, reluctantly decided that who was Tan to relieve me of my lifelong love. Yes I did want to witness us progress to the Premier, but I have felt strangely detached because it doesnt look like my team out there. So my only gesture of defiance was to continue to keep the blue.

Anyway after visiting Anfield Saturday I have been on a constant high thinking at last we have the momentum to get our colour back.

Discussing this with my mate, imagine my surprise when he told me he actually now had grown fond of the red

Then, this normally down to earth guy said the weirdest thing. He said '' I agree with Tan, I think red is lucky; look what its done for Liverpool and Man U over the years!'' He went on to say....''We managed to get promotion wearing red didn't we?''

Bless him! I didn't have the heart to mention the small matter of a £12 million transfer investment last season. None of us can compete with supernatural intervention!
