Ok fair enough.

However we are a club playing in European competition with a major trophy in the bank in the Premier League era with a top 9 finish and there or there abouts again halfway into our 3rd consecutive season here.

I think you are light years away from that personally.

Ha ha Europa wouldn't bother you because you had two teams good enough to compete in both and were light years ahead

Europa teams do well first half of the season usually due to the earlier start and the momentum from the European adventure, but fade badly second half of the season as injuries and fatigue takes it's effects.

It's going to be an interesting end to the season, I would have preferred you get an easier draw and go on. Bit longer but it looks like you are put now anyway.

You've had an easier start than us with plenty of the bottom half teams at home.

We have had a tougher fixture only WBA and you in the bottom half at home and have beaten you both, bring on the derby it would be nice to get the double :ayatollah:

One nil to the Capital, that's two in a row

Probably top of the Championship going up a season later.....

Reserves cup is a joke, it shouldn't really carry a European place, much better to go on 1st performances in the League.

Yes you won the Micky mouse cup and the Europa league was the result, not a separate achievement. Probably a one off like when birmingham won it or Wigan winning the FA cup last season. It doesnt make you world beaters and I can't see how that puts you lights years ahead.

As for this being your 3rd season, I'd say we were 2 years away from that as opposed to light years

Micky Mouse trophy? The League Cup you mean?

You have to ACTUALLY get the achievement in order to say you have achieved it. You cant say you are 3 years away when it may take you 103 years to get 3 successive premier league seasons. Let alone 2 mid table finishes and a mid table Xmas spot in the 3rd.

We have never been in a dogfight in 3 seasons. I cant envisage a scenario where you guys can say that any time soon.

I said you won the cup. The Europa followed. 2 parts of the same achievement. Not sure how it represents light years when we drew the final against Liverpool (not league 1) only to lose on pens, when we were a championship side.

League wise you've had what 46pts? A couple of wins from the edge of the relegation zone so hardly romping the league.

Don't get me wrong I'd take 17th place at seasons end but don't delude yourself that somehow you're one of the best teams in the PL. You're cannon fodder for the big boys like the rest of us.

Okay then, we won a major cup and find ourselves in the last 32 of European competition. I cant see you lot doing that in my lifetime.

46 pts yes. Usually about 10 points clear which taken on form of the bottom clubs - they would need and extra quarter of a season of more games than us to drag us down there - thats pretty safe :D

Ive never thought we were on of the best teams in the PL. however I believe we are one of the best, if not, the best outside the top 7-8. Again, i dont see you boys laying claim to that any time soon either.

Lost to Everton at home we didnt

We were in the last 4 of cup winners cup in 1968 as a second division side
.You will never beat that record.

And that has a baring in your current side how exactly?

We are talking how far behind you currently are from us - as far as im aware no player that played in the 1968 side plays for you - would I be right?

You are currently way behind us as we are an established mid table prem team, have a major trophy in the cabinet which the current squad earned and are competing in the latter stages of european competition.

You.... Are not.

Its that simple.

Let's see if your an established mid table team come seasons end!

Established my arse west brom have been here longer have finished higher and I still don't view them as an established mid table side either

You can blame Europa etc but the fact is you are a lot poorer this season laudrap is slowly changing the way you play and it's not benefitting you at all players like shelvey and bony would never have been considered under Brenda as they don't fit the 'Swansea way' I'm glad he's trying to change your style cos he'll get u relegated eventually hope he keeps buying players like that!

Some desperate posts here. Far too many "what ifs" and "lets see ifs" for people trying to claim things in the hear and now. Even resorting to "everton beat you but didnt beat us" Palace beat you 2-0 away, we beat then 2-0 away

You ARE light years behind us - think you may have to prove it if you dont like that tag.

Well then a mile is not a unit of time time is it. You better get your running boots on though.

A light-year, is an astronomical unit of length (not time) equal to just under 9.5 trillion kilometres (or about 6 trillion miles)

Jacks preference of telling us how far ahead they are.
I would round that down to about....... 3points. :laughing6:

We're 3 only points down on this stage last year.

Given the European games and the number of injuries we've suffered compared to last year, I'm delighted with that.

3 points more than Newcastle had last year when they struggled with Europe.

So you are just talking about points in the league and nothing else?

So you think the difference between us is a similar difference as Man Utd and Southampton are or Man City and Everton?

Yep fair enough - agree with that

More a horrendous injury list for Newcastle

Re: So, going into Christmas..

Yesterday we had no Britton, Michu, Rangel, Vorm and Dyer - thats half a team. Ironically our injuries have seemed to come solely in European games... barring Dyer.

Not complaining, its what all teams aspire to do, finish as high as possible and hopefully get into Europe. We are here now and progressing in it. Its great.

Some lacklustre and understandably tired or indeed depleated performances are to be expected and are a great trade off in my opinion.
