I think Simon Jordans book is a top insight. Purely says it how he sees it and shows you just how good a salesman/businessman he was.

Great Expectations - Charles Dickens
The Cruel Sea - Nicholas Monsarrat

Both books that I found hard to put down.
Also, original black and white Film versions excellent and recommended.

Both books full of intrigue,sadness, happiness and surprises - JUST LIKE WATCHING THE BLUEBIRDS OVER THE YEARS !!!!!

new testament and the big book-two most life changing ones for me.ones i enjoyed ,michael stone of the ulster freedom fighters book,roy keanes,mickey francis,s man city book.books of that ilk.i liked those martin king books especially hoolifan.eli cohen-our man in damascuas.loads of differing types.im going to give annis,s book -my story a nod too.i really enjoyed reading that.annis came across to me in that book as a caring and passionate man.when i met him i found that to be the case.

'History of the NME', by Pat Long is a good read. Just been reading the chapter on punk in 1976. 18 at the time. Was not into it myself,(few football fans were), but remember it well. Changed music completely.
