Marshall
TC Caulker Turner John(if Taylor isn't fit)
Medel Mutch
Noone Kim Odemwingie
Campbell

These teams like to play proper football with this formation and like to use the 3 behind the striker as general attacking players which makes it hard to defend when their roles are often switching.

I've rested Whittingham(could do with one game out), with my faith in Noone or Kim to deliver any free kicks.

Best suggestion all topic

Maybe not using noone this or pow as this formation doesn't require wingers as they get ripped through in CM/AM

Thanks, the reason I went for Odemwingie was due to some attacking similarity I've seen. I know Ronaldo is on another planet when it comes to talent but reminds of me Pow of he fact I think neither are true wingers or strikers, same with players like Reus, Di Maria etc. Arsenal are definitely the best example for using more central players in that system.

442 is outdated, only Man Utd under fergie made it work in recent times that I can think of.

DJ used to get hammered about playing 4-4-2

Id like to see a 4-4-1-1 if im honest with Odemingy given a free role.

I have no problem with 4-5-1 either, I dont think the formation is the problem more the tactics which are every man behind the ball and hope to score from a set piece. Id love us as the home team take the game to WBA, we dont need to go all out attack but just looking to score and give teh striker some support.
Although I think we will be ok sat its the away form thats the worry.

Exactly luke like I said previously 4-4-2 isn't the answer will get torn a new arsehole by nearly every team in this league, problem we got is we need a number 10 to play in behind the striker and at the moment we ain't got one, Mutch has played there a few games but is defending more than attacking kimbo looked like the answer last season but hasn't adapted well to the premier league although I'm sure more game time would help pow could
Play there possibly but he needs to be supporting the striker better if he's playing there problem is not the players it's malky telling them to be defensive having 30/40 yards between the midfield and line striker is no good that's why the system looks ineffective when in fact if used properly will work
Just fine

Way too much pressure on theo and Taylor neither will be able to get forward cos we'll get rogered down the flanks, west brom play wingers and we will get torn new arseholes
