What "lower option" is this you speak of?
I only heard this back when you went up.. it was talk of it going on for the first season in the Prem or if you stay up and for the next season that you wanted 4,000-7,000 around there but you got turned down. The lower option was around 1,000-2,000.
I thought you would have took it even though it was low but just to get the extra supporters in.

This is fascinating stuff! So we've had planning permission turned down, but offered an alternative? And not one person in the whole of Swansea is aware of this, but apparently you are!
If you can read it means you wanted a bit too much because of whatever reason I don't know.
I wouldn't really make something like this up as it wouldn't achieve anything, it is something I heard a while back.

Your not quite getting this are you? The fundamental point here being that YOU have HEARD that planning permission has been turned down, yet not a single person in the whole of Swansea or SCFC's fanbase is aware of this! Are the alarm bells starting too ring yet? Was planning permission denied and it was kept a complete secret from everyone except your 'source of info'? C'mon my boy get that brain of yours clicked into gear! THINK THINK THINK!

Well it isn't exactly something Swansea City would want to release as major news?

Everyone is a winner, Council dodge the flak and swell the coffers a bit, Swans can finally look at expansion on their own terms, Ospreys get to play their matches at grounds that reflect attendances.
All sounds very fair. Best thing Tan has done with us is get rid of the egg-chasers. I went to see Wales v Austria at the Liberty back in February, and was surprised to see all the egg stuff in the stadium. Had forgotten that they were still there. They can't be doing your paying surface any good!
Voted best pitch in the Premiership by other clubs last year!
Not quite true though is it?
You were voted Grounds staff of the year because of how well they cope with the Rugby.
I'm afraid too say that it is true. Yes the rugby is taken into account but it's not the only contributing factor. And indeed it does stand as the only award there is of it's type. Arsenal won it the year before. You only need to google 'best playing surface in the premier league'.![]()

That says groundsman of the year award as I said![]()
And it even says that the fact that the rugby was there was a major point in picking the liberty.

I swear I read a jacks post a few years back saying the Liability could only get expanded to 22k due to the way it was built.

There was no such option put forward (other than some talk last summer of changing the configuration inside the stadium regarding the press area which would have created extra seating).
The planning application that is in is for an extra 12,000 seats in 3 stages of 4,000. The issue with the application as far as I'm aware is the travel plan. To be honest I'm not surprised as public transport to the stadium is poor and parking is an issue. In the original plans there was a train station to be built at Landore to service the stadium. This was pulled though. It really needs to be built imo as it would make the whole thing a lot easier.
