Can you explain to me on a thread based on Swansea's past and finances, you feel the need to mention Sam?

All Paul did was state the CVA and to some reason you felt the need to mention Sam?

He mentioned 5p in the pound you bi sexual pony! Thats why I mentioned Sam! :thumbright:

So just to confirm, he hasn't told any lies. Has given an accurate account of events.

And your response is to comment on our history which is of no relevance to the topic and make petty remarks.

Hence my 64Joke remark

Of course it has relevance!!! The implication was that we shafted creditors. So have you. To the tune of £15m to the man who dragged you out of the gutter and put you on the road to where you are today? And you still try and take the moral high ground!

Confusing response, the dealings with Hammam were a dark era for this club and as someone who was never a fan of his (the irony being the only other team I've ever had any allegiance too is Wimbledon) seeing the way he is regarded is laughable. It's dodge by Swansea fans however. Going into administration is deplorable and should never be defended.

I really love all this went bust crap. You have to bring it up once a month just to get over the fact that if Tan pulled out of your club would of gone down the river ,so you sold your soul and went red, HMRC on speed dial with Ridsdale BLAH BLAH.

Come on boys these are pointless childish posts. I would rather you keep on about your achivements since joining us in the Premier league, like beating man City and us along with a very good draw against Utd.

I feel that you bringing up these topics are just deflecting from having a few issues of you own this season behind the scenes and we for once have had a bigger spotlight than you for the last few years, however we are now even ,get over it and enjoy the Premier league.

The fact is you did go bust and ripped local businesses off thousands and thousands. As you could understand losing thousands of pounds could send local businesses under, your scummy club did not care about this which is sickening. So for you gypos to mention cardiff making a deal with Sam, where he gets a few mil less than the mammoth amount he was already receiving is laughable.

I've already asked you this question, (which you still havn't answered) where are you getting the £15 million from??? were you in on the negotiations??? or are you basing this on hearsay from this forum??? as for hammam having a choice of course he did, if he thought he was right he could have taken it to the high courts and do you really believe that if he was due another £15 million he would just write it off??? if so you are more stupid than you usually sound when posting on here.

That is not a fact! is anyone still bitching about it except Cardiff fans, no! . All those people concerned had a vote to reject or accept had they rejected no Swansea City ,no money. You have to admit though, that its a bit rich that Jacks have time and time again criticised the way Cardiff has been run and hold your own club up as the epitomy of good financial management, when in fact history tells us that it's Swansea who went into administration, it was they that overspent on bringing high profile players in, in the eighties, building ridiculous isore stands, having no assets and relying on the council to provide them with a stadium
However, tough it's got at Cardiff,we have never gone into admin and have paid all outstanding debs to local businesses. Sam Hammam, had a legal agreement to get all the money he was owed in 2016, he decided to re-negotiate a settlement earlier than that date, how you can compare that to your own clubs 5p in the pounds agreement to local creditors is beyong anyone with more than 10 brain cells

Your asking me if I knew this went too court when I've provided you a link covering the court case?

The judge sided with the club in the fact that he agreed the monies did not need to be repaid until 2016, and that is why in his opinion langstone/hammam could not win if they went too full trial. What you fail to see here is that if Sam had been offered 5p in the pound he would have dismissed it out of hand and gone to court seeking full settlement of £31m + £5M for reaching the premier league. By offering £15M Sam was left in a dilemna. Accept it, or risk going to court and losing the lot! I know what I would have done. So whether or not a gun was held to his head, he got less than he even loaned you initially which was £24m.

"At the start of the two day hearing, Langston's counsel, Michael Driscoll QC said: "It is common ground that the claimant loaned £24m to the club in 2004 and is yet to be repaid."

This means that BOTH parties agreed Hammam did indeed loan the club £24m. :thumbright:

You obviously know nothing about the case and are too dim to understand the basics anyway  The judge ruled that the agreement in place, that payment of £24 million should be paid by 2016 was legitimate and that Sam Hammam had no case against the club that they had broken clauses within that agreement that would allow early settlement. Sam Hammam was still due to be paid in 2016 that full amount, he decided to take an early settlement of how much is not public knowledge. :ayatollah:

What a statement to make! On the contrary. Of course I'm disappointed that previous owners left the current regime in such a situation. In fact I was quite mad about it at the time. However, the point which has gone completely over your head, is that whilst your fans still continue to bring this up what 11 years later. A lot of you have been crowing over The Sam situation being resolved when he was quite clearly ripped off by your current regime! You really couldn't make it up! Oh Jesus! You call me dim then post a load of bollocks such as that. So by your reckoning, he lent the club £24m in 2004 and that £24m was interest free payable in 2016? Right? Certainly not. It's just that your personal beliefs regarding Sam Hammam do not detract from the fact that he loaned the club £24m and got £15m back. So whatever you think of him, he was indeed shafted and it still remains that the people who laud the fact that he's been 'paid off' are the same people who bring up crap from 11 years ago over what was in comparison a measly amount. Shame on me? ye ok! :laughing6:

The bottom line is that Swansea City are very well run and the debt they had 11 years ago was absolutely nothing compared to what most clubs have as a debt today.

This is the reason why all the media go on about how well run we are as a club. This is the very same reason that Cardiff fans pull out the same old boring stories about us "ripping off local businesses". Nobody else ever mentions it. Why? Because it was all resolved by SCFC and the debts were tiny.

Cardiff on the other hand, the whole of the UK know about how badly run they have been. So again, this is why cardiff fans go on about our debts from 11 years ago. It's an inferiority complex. They would still be playing in blue now if the hadn't gotten into this mess in the first place.

The key difference is that when SCFC got into debt and sold the club for £1 (plus all the debt), we learned our lesson and changed how everything was run. Cardiff just continued to spiral out of control. Millions and millions of borrowed pounds later, here we are.

The fact is Cardiff were losing around £13,000,000 per season and without promotion Tan would of left them for sure, taking his convermoney with him. I am sure we were lucky to survive but I think Cardiff were luckier.

So if your debt was so tiny, how come you had to go into administration? rather than pay off this tiny debt? are you saying that the club chose not to? :o

They were only in administration once, but they shafted their creditors twice, (funny how they forget to mention that) i remember chucking some coins in one of the many buckets outside ninian park the first time the tramps done their creditors.
