As well as giving very well deserved credit to Malky - and Moody - for recruiting so well (Caulker, Medel especially, Cornelius hopefully) don't we also have to give credit to Tan for giving them the budget., plus a bit more than he intended ?

I think the 2nd half of the season will be more likely for us to win the vital home games (and get more praise all round).

Of these final TEN home games to come, only TWO are against teams currently in the top half (Liverpool & Chelsea).

TV pundits have been saying how well Hull have been doing (only TWO points above us), but their home fixture set up has been totally opposite to ours as they have not played a SINGLE home hame yet against a side in the top half (Palace at home tomorrow).

That's why I think it would be so unfair to sack Malkey before the end of the season.

Come on let's show the world how well we can get behind our team.

I can think of many answers; each of which you will have an opinion on to suit the fact that you made yet another stupid and ill-considered statement, so there is no point. However, if you had asked "Who do you think could advance us if Malky were to go?" I may just have given you a legitimate answer ;)

You are a smart-arse, JonCCFC; but that doesn't make you intelligent; just a smart-arse!

I believe that if we lost to Man Utd and Arsenal and only got a point against both Stoke and Palace and Malky was sacked the fans would go mental.

I think Malky Mackay is in the hearts of the vast majority of City fans and even a run of 5 games without a win would not be enough of reason to get rid of him.

His two full seasons have had a measure of success about them and so far this season we are doing as well as many had hoped so I believe Malky has the support of the fans on his side even if we did hit a bad patch.

What do you think, should we go on a winless run of 4-5 games, how would the City fans react?

why arev you stirring crap for?

Can't see who we could get who would be better, I think Malky will go on to bigger and better things in the future, and will be regarded as one of Britain's top managers. His tactics may be a bit negative at the minute, but he is working with what he has right now, and his number one priority is avoiding the bottom three. Hopefully he will succeed, and build on that next season. Needs to get us established to attract bigger and better players, but may need a bit of time yet.

Managers do have a style though and it can be successful, George Graham was able to get Arsenal winning titles playing the same way, so I think Malky could make it at a bigger club, but it may be difficult if he had all attacking midfielders, and poor defensive midfielders. Like all Management jobs some will go into one place and do a fantastic job, get a move to a bigger or different club and fall on there arse.

It is not stirring it is called debating something topical, you maybe someone who has his head so far buried in the sand that you can't hear the water splashing or like others you may understand that all is not well at the moment between manager and owner and we would like to discuss the implications of such a situation.

Re: HOW DO YOU THINK THEY WOULD REACT ?

Sat Nov 23, 2013 6:41 pm

I think we are being a little too loyal to the manager, perhaps our dislike of the way Tan has behaved has pushed us all into backing the manager rather than perhaps being a little more objective..

The truth is we have spent a lot of money on decent players and yet we look a very poor side, we look like a side devoid of attacking ideas and devoid of taking a game to the opposition... I think the 'just don't lose' mentality will be our downfall this season... what is frustrating is that we actually have decent attacking players who could hurt teams if the formation and team selection was different.

The win against the jacks was fantastic but in reality it wasn't a great performance.

Perhaps Malky will pull a decent winger and striker out of the bag in January but I think the fact that Cowie is in the team above Kimbo and Noone is actually embarrassing and indicative of the defensive mentality of the manager.

Truth is I think Malky isn't brave enough and perhaps needed another year in the Championship to hone in his management skills.

If the fans go mental if he gets sacked, and I don't think he will be, I think it will be more of a reflection of the frustration with the Tan-Empire rather than the cold hard facts that Malky is sending out one of the most boring teams ever to grace the premier league.

Re: HOW DO YOU THINK THEY WOULD REACT ?

Carl I think that fans in general would be outraged but your question is how would they react? I think that the answer is we would react in a fragmented and disjointed way. Some fans would be distraught others would be glad and the rest would be apathetic.
If we couldn't present a united front as a result of the rebrand there is little hope that a backlash against Malkys dismissal would fare any better.

Re: HOW DO YOU THINK THEY WOULD REACT ?

Sun Nov 24, 2013 1:30 pm

I think serious questions would then need to be asked.

You only have to look at our fans after a bad result.
