He hasn't changed our name or nickname - we're still Cardiff City, the Bluebirds. We play in red and still play in blue. We have a blue away kit. We still have our history from the 1927 cup wins, the lower league promotions, play off failures, league cup loss, us dominating the Championship, beating Manchester City, beating Fulham.

Colour is irrelevant, our performances, achievements make the history.

Absolute nonsense.

Colour is integral, absolutely integral to a clubs identity. Far more than a nickname, and as much as the club name to be honest.

A name is a name, in itself it isn't an identity.

kid you should start listening to people ,it's obvious most fans want financial security and a healthy club to support over a colour. The majority have made their mind up and are content with the direction the club are going.

You'd rather accept red than fight for blue? Says a lot.

But it's MY opinion there's the differance

Of course it's your opinion, it just says a lot.

when you look long and hard ,most things change at most clubs, players, managers, chairmen, stadia and if not stadia as a whole new stands etc, even fans drift and new ones come. the things least likely to change are name and colour, followed by nickname, the badge? we have only worn what many consider our REAL badge 4 out of last 11 years. and it only became our badge in mid eighties............so i think both name and colour are what makes a club

 Jesus Christ.

Everybody knows who Bluebirds Unite are. You know who they are and what their aims are otherwise you wouldn't have brought up the above question.

If you look up on Bluebirds Unite and actually check the reasoning behind creating the group then you will see where is says that they want a return to blue.

ah. so there is no need to say it?

the point of an ad is not that people look up bluebirds unite
we are not bluebirds unite fans ..we are Cardiff fans
sooner the better BU figure that out

Basically, yes.

There is no need to say it on this specific advert because it is calling all people who want a return to blue to take part in the march. Anyone who has that attitude as Cardiff fans would surely already know that BU were formed to bring back that identity... It isn't an advert for people to support BU, it's an advert for people to join in with the march that they have organised.

I take it that you won't be in attendance then? :laughing6:

Re: TODAYS ECHO.

How can you say red is part of our history? We have played in red for one and a third seasons. We have been wearing blue for over a 100 years. It's obvious the advert is stating we want our history of playing in blue to be restored.

You can't change history, it's in the past. Majority was blue, recent history is in red. If we go back to blue then red will still be in our history. It's not going to change, it's already happened.
Two biggest moments in our history imo
Was winning the FA Cup in blue but no bluebird on the badge
Getting promoted which unfortunately was in red with a dragon.
By can shout what they want but those won't change that or any of the rest of our history.

Obviously that's all correct, but I wasn't going on about that. I was going on about the word history in the advert obviously referring to our 100 years of history in blue. It's not referring to our one and a third seasons in red is it!

History is what has happened in the past, Cardiff City FC history includes the last one and a third seasons as much as we don't like it being in red it's part of it

Certainly not the majority of the fans - Home & Away there is a MAJORITY of fans who wear more blue than red. Especially away where there is a maximum of 50 fans in red turning up.

Perhaps you mean the majority of the 'fans' in Malaysia? maybe you even mean the majority of the boardroom?

Wow, well done Mario.

500 were at the castle to start off but grew to over 1,000... Anyway that isn't my point. That is an amount of people who turned up for a March organised by a group of fans. The amount of blue in the stadium over the amount of red (not including signs/paint) is over powering. The majority of the stadium is blue and it is getting more and more blue as Tan's malarky is going along. There isn't even any need of me going into the amount of blue we take to away games ;)

Basically you believe that if a fan doesn't march with BU then that means that they don't want a return to blue or they are happy with the way things are? - good logic.

Re: TODAYS ECHO.

Thu Nov 21, 2013 3:05 pm

Neither the blue or the red inside the ground is significant.

Id say the majority are people like myself. No colours, casual clothes, dont like the red, would never wear it but want to see their team do well. We appreciate the good things Tan has doen for this club in getting it promoted and on a sound financial footing and put up with 10 players on the pitch in red as a result.

Like it or not the stark facts are only 500-1000 are that bothered about the colour that they would go on a march for it. Thats not an opinion. Its a fact.

And 500-1000 is not the majority. Again thats not an opinion. Its a fact.

The tide isnt turning against Tan, its just BU are shouting louder.

The tide isn't turning against Tan?

So less people are wearing red and more people are going to home games in blue and the blue shirt has sold more than the red by 4:1 as Annis quoted and the tide isn't turning?

As for your point of "only 500-1000 are that bothered about the colour that they would go on a march for it" is silly. Alot of pro-blues would do anything to get their club playing in their rightful colours again but they against what BU are doing or have done.

Bluebirds Unite aside - There is MORE blue at home & away games than there is red - FACT

Re: TODAYS ECHO.

Fri Nov 22, 2013 3:21 pm

Buying a blue shirt doesnt mean you want Tan out FFS, obviously the majority of people would prefer to be blue, but the majority of people dont want Tan out either, hence people are not joining BUs fight because thats turned into a Tan Out fight.
