How does birthplace alter you as a person? Your family do, where you grow up does, but the hospital you were born in? I don't buy it.

That said, Williams is total shit and for that reason shouldn't be captain

Where your born doesn't necessarily matter. If I'm 20th generation welsh but work abroad for a while and have a child born in say, Dubai, does that make them an Arab?

Blood line counts as much if not more than where you happen to pop out.

You clown.

Whinges about a non welsh captain yet wants a non welsh manager. :laughing6:

It's also quite easy to 'boycott' Wales when we're rubbish.

As with many others who are refusing to go, if we qualified for the World Cup/Euro I bet they'd forget about Williams being captain or Coleman being in charge. (who am I kidding - we won't qualify with him in charge! )

This. He's obviously not going 'cause we're shit, he's just using the whole captain of Wales thing as an excuse.

What's that?

Making a mockery of Wales in a way. Letting an English man lead us out as a nation.. I find it impossible to take pride and urge the team on with that embarrassment.

FAW or Coleman, how they believe picking an Englishman as captain is just a p*ss take, goes for any nationality if it's Scottish.

I will have someone slate me on this view but I boycotted since it happened, I sold my Scotland tickets for home when it happened and also saved a lot of money for Scotland away which I was excited about.

Can't believe the thick, bitter tossers who post on this site. Ashley Williams plays for Wales because the rules say that he can. He qualifies via his Welsh grandfather. As does Hal Robson-Kanu, Simon Church, Sam Ricketts etc etc. Michael Owen played for England but was born in Wales -because that's the rules. But no-one mentions those, do they? Why? Because they don't play for Swansea. It's you tossers who are the embarrassment. Get over it and get behind your country. You're a disgrace

He was a good player that always did a solid day's work, but him playing for Wales these days is a sign of how badly we are lacking in the centre-half department whenever Williams, Collins or Gabbidon are missing/not playing.

We haven't lost for 3 games now. We have beaten Finland once in eight attempts. Today was disappointing we didnt close it out but a decent result none the less.

Still points to the fact that out of 16 games we have only won 4, that qualifies as a success for Wales......

Michael Owen was born in Chester but schooled in North Wales, if he was coming through now he would have been able to play for Wales they changed the rules regarding eligibility its the same situation & why Coleman approached Ryan Shawcross who was brought up in North Wales.

No problem with Ashley Williams being captain fair play he may be limited in ability but always tries his best & turns up.

Re: Wales v Finland

Its not only game tonight that we conceded late goal! It's an inherent failure of ours lost count how many times its happened, we just don't have the player's to defend against pressure! Coleman is just a part of the problem. :old:

Because Cotterill has oremier league and international experience, if hed brought in Huws people would be saying "why is he bringing on someone who plays for Northampton Town."

Although Emyr Huws is also ex Swansea dont forget.

I think the captain should be welsh-born. I'd say the same if Turner was captain (had he accepted the invitation to play for Wales).

Whilst I do think Williams is over rated, to call him total shit is absolute nonsense.

Calling him s**t is stupid. We would be lost without him sometimes in some games I seen. I appreciate what he done like the rest it isn't exactly his fault he's captain.

So your happy to say we'd be lost with out him and appreciate what hes done, but as soon as he puts the armband on you boycott?

I'm yes it makes it very wrong and ruins what would be a real Welsh man's dream. Did Williams as a child dream of captaining Wales? Of course not.

How do you know what Ashley Williams dreamed of as a boy?

But no, it doesnt make it wrong at all. He has welsh blood and is commited to the cause. Probably more than any other captain i can remember.

I dont know what people think a captain represents. A captain isnt anything other than a man who posesses leadership qualities and sets by example, he does it without hesitation. He is the vessel to carry the managers instructions on the pitch.

So it seems odd a foreign manager is fine but someone with welsh blood cant do that job on the pitch.
