Less games in the prem so more time to save inbetween them 
reality is most people can find money if they want to but in the championship most people had seen the same teams over and over and it was maybe getting predictable for some.
it wouldnt surprise me if crwods drop for us in the prem in a few seasons (assuming we stay up all those years)

Agreed, I seriously doubt if the expasion goes ahead, and we stay up, we will get anywhere near capacity crowds against the so called 'smaller teams'.
