Had a vote though didn't they.. The fans chose to adopt the nickname of the symbol that's been on their chest

Oh dear lord, not all this again. Ninian park or Cardiff City Stadium. Blue shirt or red? Yet through all the trees the wood still says that we are still Cardiff City. Get behind it.

Re: I’d rather be in the Conference than owned by Vincent Ta

Mon Nov 11, 2013 9:17 pm

love the OP, full of bravado......Why does he support Wrexham when he could easily support Everton or united.

Because Wrexham is his team, but if some owner came in and changed their strip and refused to openly call them the Robins would he leave, of course he wouldn't because Wrexhams his team.

If Barcelona suddenly relocated to Newport how many would really leave City, in reality not many, because city is our club as Wrexham is his......

Dont support tan or his red shit. I would not piss on it.
If or when we drop, watch the red brigade drop like a stone, all of a sudden being red will mean something.

The principle of fans having a greater say in how their club is run is sound. Whether its little
Wrexham or mighty Barcelona. It's a model that we should attempt to replicate when/ if the opportunity arises ..
When tan has gone maybe a modest investment of 10m quid by the fans may just buy us a voice and stop any more nut jobs making stupid decisions about our club :thumbright:

Re: I’d rather be in the Conference than owned by Vincent Ta

If you want Tan you need to put another 0 on the end of that 10m.

Then maybe we can have a say.

Id rather be in league 2 than be owned by vincent tan. Conference is takin it a bit far but seriously, its not been worth it

Quite easy for supporters to have opinion when they haven't been through it. If they did, lets see how they would react.

Didn't say I'd rather be in red. I'd like Cardiff to still be in blue.

But would I rather the club be in non league, financially shite and no glamour and our kit being blue or premier league, financially good playing United, Arsenal, Chelsea, beating Man City, Swansea or Fulham in red?

This sentiment to blue is as logical as f*cking a lovers corpse.

I reiterate, it's the fans and history that make the club not the colour of the kit or the badge. Badges change! Kits change seasonly albeit not colours as often. We are still Cardiff City we are still the bluebirds.

A superb article from the Wrexham fan who sums up the way other fans see your new club.

If/when you go down and start to sink you will look back and wonder what the hell happened to your old club.

You're not Cardiff City anymore. You've been turned into a franchise. You'll soon be Cardiff Dragons or whatever Tan wants. It's amazing that you're letting it happen. So many blinkered views on here, it's unreal.

If you're in League 2 playing in red, will that be ok? Or is it just ok to sell your soul for the Premier League? Pathetic.

With regards to "Swansea killed off local businesses", yet another lie that's spewed out by the more brainless cardiff fans. Just remember how much debt we were in back then. A tiny slither of the amount that you have built up over the years.

The models you mention are 100% owned by fans / members, so if you want a democratic vote on such matters like Wrexham and Barcelona then I suggest the fans would need more than 5-10% which is what 10m will get you.

Can't argue with that (apart from the swansea role model, people forget they went into admin).

I would rather watch the Cardiff City I fell in love with on Trelai Park than watch this franchised red joke of a club in the Premier League and I can say that with 100% honesty.

Same could be said for the majority of football clubs. Time stands still for no man and to survive in the world of modern football sacrifices will be made, rightly or wrongly. I think moving from Ninian Park had a far reaching effect on our history/identity than the colour of our shirts.

Yes thats the point I am trying to make.

I am a football romantic but we are kidding ourselves if we think returning back to blue would solve everything.

I had started to get bored of "modern" football for want of a better word long before the rebrand but its force of habit I cant just stop going.

Yes thats the point im making.

If people really think by going back to blue and playing in the conference will make everything sweet again they are barking mad.

Football, even at conference level, is a completely different game now.

Cardiff City in name, only. And that could even change soon.

Got to love the jack. They bought the winning lottery ticket and now feel they have the right to preach. We both had similar circumstances, skint in the dungeon. They took one direction and with a fair bit of luck and good judgment to be fair hit the jackpot.

But please don't preach about losing identity. When the vetch went and you loaned a council pitch (a bit like Poncanna really). You lost a chunk of your identity as well. Did Swansea lose any identity back in the 60's when they changed their name form Town to City ?

Cardiff City was one of the last bastions of old school football, the moved killed the old school not Vincent Tan.
