It may well be that, however the whole discussion is based on league points and position so the Cup win however important that may appear in your eyes (although it was a meaningless competition when we were in the final  ) is of no relevance at all here.

Whether you class last season as our best or second best in our history doesn't really make much difference does it.

The fact being if we are having a similar year this year then its ludicrous to suggest it is anything but excellent.

It does as it invalidates your statement. Why bring it up in the first place if it's incorrect.
By the way a similar year and similar points total will most likely mean a lower place finish.

My statement was that this season is has been good. Whether you class last season as our best or second best doesnt deviate from my point in any way shape or form, its just pedantacism at its finest. There is a ludicrous suggestion (trolling statement) from Ian that we arent doing very well this year. I have provided the evidence that we are doing pretty much the same as our best/second best season in our history.

The league cup is always and has always been a great cup to win and ive never said any different.

You beat teams last year that you have failed to beat this year. Top four teams as well like Arsenal. So how can you be doing better than last season.

My word, have you even read what ive posted?

Last year we got 8 points from the same fixtures we have played so far this year. This year we have 10. It isnt difficult to understand is it. :?

WBA (a) 0pts - 3pts
Liverpool (h) 1pt - 1pt
Palace (a) * this years play off winners swapped with last seasons play off winners West Ham. 0pts - 3pts
Arsenal (h) 0pts - 0pts
Southampton (a) 1pt - 0pts
Sunderland (h) 3pts - 3pts

So as you can see last year, which was our most successful in our history, we picked up 8 points against the teams we have faced so far this season. This season we are ahead of that rate by picking up 10. And top our European group including Valencia with a perfect 2 from 2.

Yes, your response was that we have lost fixtures this year that we won last year (which isnt even true by the way :D )

I have showed you that we got 2 extra points this year than the same fixtures last year.

I have no idea what you are struggling with here, not even chuckles would have this level of confusion when faced with the obvious

i know exacly what you are trying to impress on us and I am saying you cannot compare to last season. Man U are not the team of last season, far from it look at their results yet there best result was against your lot.

Also I would not put Palace on the same level as West Ham. That is just a stupid comparison. Adding to that Sunderland are no where near performing what they did last season and certainly West Brom at the time you played them were in crisis with injuroes etc.

All your doing is twisting the facts like the troll you are. :thumbright:

 we beat Sunderland 4-0 this year and beat them 1-0 last year That coincides with them being worse does it not?

Arsenal are better than they were last year as are Liverpool and Tottenham. Many claimed last years championship was the strongest in recent history so their play off winners as a swap from the previous years one seems fair to me. However if we cancelled those fixtures out then we would still be 1 point ahead of last year. So it seems you are basing your opinion on us losing to Man United

What ever way you want to look at it and no matter how many factors YOU want me to add - everything still points to your opinion being utterly ridiculous (as usual)

Yes I would claim you beating Sunderland 4-0 yesterday to 1-0 last year makes them worse. Specially as they have only got one point all season.

So how many claimed last years championship was the strongest? Not that many as you think but lets say there not then does it not make our achievement marvellous? Your exaggerating there to try and score a point.

What ever way you want to look at it this thread has just proved what a troll you are, well done.

i dont have figures but many did. However its irrelevant anyway as i cancelled the two fixtures from the equation after your complaint and we still are doing better. Any way you have tried to twist it still proves that you are wrong... So what is your angle now?

What ever way you want to look at it this thread has just proved what a troll you are, well done.

so let me get this straight... You claimed we are having a bad season because we lost to teams this year that we beat last year, which i proved wasnt true. While doing it i also proved that we are above the points tally we were last year against the same teams when the majority are stronger this year, and even cancelled the one you had an issue with.

So you make a ludicrous statement, i clearly prove it wrong... And im the troll

Try again Ian, your nonsense posting holds no bounds.

The only person twisting things here is you.

All I've done is state what is going on in the now while you are using last season as a twist to say you are doing better on the whole this season. I could go on and you will reply with your trolling. Your trolling is stretching out to more fronteers but that can be expected from someone who got bullied at school.

Re: ' Next five fixtures '

Didn't we draw 2-2 with Sunderland last year?
Taylor injured, chico sent off Fletcher scored two?

I dont see why comparing results is a bad thing. If we do better in the equivalent games this season clearly we will have finished with more points. Its not rocket science.

Re: ' Next five fixtures '

I hate to be the one to tell you but you do realise these new updated results add weight to the fact you are spouting nonsense dont you

New varified results instead of off the top of my head.

Southampton (a) 1pt - 0pts
Sunderland (h) 1pt - 3pts

This year we have 10 points where last year in the same fixtures we had 7pts. If you want to cancel the two different promoted sides then its level on 7pts each.

Either way you are talking dribble

So if we gain more points against team for team it doesn't mean we will end the season with more points? Please explain? I agree over 8 games it doesn't make much difference but its still a very interesting comparison. And as more games go on it becomes a very useful tool.
Its not rocket science. But then again if we well down on these stats you would be using them to show how we are struggling.

Its 9.22 and with my fiance watching breaking bad.

So have you now realised you are wrong and starting to get personal. And you are calling me a troll

Explain your opinion properly or expect it to get ripped to shreds.

1) you said we are struggling because we lost to teams this year we beat last year.... This was proven incorrect and indeed proven that we are in fact doing better in this set of fixtures than last years same fixtures.

2) you then suddenly decided that comparisons were pointless (funny that) and we are struggling because we have lost against Tottenham, Man United and Arsenal

3) after realising thats pretty stupid too it seems you have reverted to personal abuse. Pathetic. Back up your point sensibly or dont bother would be my advice, you clearly dont like meing made a fool of

You started by backing up your opinion with comparisons to last year. When you realised it contradicted what you were saying you then said comparing to last year is pointless.

I since changed the incorrect scored as i have told you, i short changed us. So instead of doing the same as last year we are indeed doing better :thumbright:

Also love the fact we are "struggling" in 11th place while you sit smugly in 16th

Agree . A point a game average is a decent return . If we can stay in touch until dec, when on paper, the fixtures do seem to get easier , I am confident of kicking on a bit
