Most other countries I've lived in also have a genuinely free health care system, UK probably the most expensive pile of shite I've ever encountered, got to be up there with the yanks system as the worst in the world. Yes we (well you, I don't live in UK anymore) do have some of the some of greatest health care workers in the world, be it doctors, nurses, surgeons, para medics, ambulance drivers, great caring people.
