Good posts by both of you.

Awful that a child was abducted but her parents left her and her siblings alone more than once - by their own admission! When will they be charged with neglect?

I would never leave my child in the room alone on holiday or at home but the sad fact is many parents do whilst enjoying a drink. How many times have you seen parents in a pub ,restaurant or even on an away trip getting pissed up and not knowing what the child is upto

Child neglect pure and simple. I cant stand parents who do it.

It irks me when parents are walking in front of their child on the way home from school and the child is just plodding along like 10 yards behind because mum is too busy chatting to her friend to care about her child. Anyone could swoop in and take that child and the mother is too busy chatting to notice.

Why this annoys me is I was driving past Oakfield Primary School and a mother (possibly a crackhead - she looked like one) was walking ahead pushing the wheelchair (probably with a baby by another man) and her child was walking behind and just stepped out into the road and luckily for her I was doing 20 mph otherwise a good chance that poor child might have been hit. I always do 20mph past schools regardless of the limit because of this type of thing. She then tried to blame me so I gave her a telling off for not paying attention to her child who could have been no more than 6 years old at most.

How can people be like this? THATS THEIR CHILD FFS.

my take on this is (probably off the mark) but the mcCann's gave the kids something to help them sleep as they are doctor's and they gave poor Maddie too much which killed her, praia de Luz is a well known swingers area and the kids would have been in the way, i'm sorry in my mind they are guilty as sin

To be fair thats what I believed from the start, not sure about the swingers part. But I think they gave her too much by accident

Being doctors, they would not come under the same radar as the common man. Portuguese police believed they were involved. Time will tell

Just been watching the reconstruction and just find it unbelievable that the parents left THREE young children in a apartment alone when they went out to a Tapas Bar. What if there had been a fire they could have lost all their children!!!!

There is definitely something not right about the whole affair and it seems the police are spending £5 million pounds of OUR money on this latest investigation. I feel for any parent that has lost a child but the parents really have to take the majority of the blame for what happened and I know for sure that if this had been a single mother from the Gurnos who had left her Daughter and gone for a drink then she would almost certainly have been prosecuted for child neglect!

I like many of you have been away numerous times when my kids were small & we wouldn't even leave them with a recognised baby sitter. If we went out, the kids came with us.
However, I can't imagine the pain & regret the Mcann's have felt every day since.
They have pushed & pushed beyond belief to keep the inquiry going all these years. I have my doubts but I hope the poor girl is found eventually.

There were babysitters available on the complex where they were staying, for a price.

You will find the McCanns are very well connected politically.G Mcann was a labour candidate at one time and it seems had a direct line to one Gordon Brown who you might remember was PM at the time of the disappearance. There was a govt backed publicity/spin campaign in the aftermath and Brown personally put pressure on the Portuguese Govt.
Definately not something a Gurnos girl would have had.

100% agree with you. They also gave Man Utd fans years of Munich abuse as well. Horrible fans.
