Vincent Tan provided the funds for Malky to try and build a squad capable of remaining in the Premier League. The owner had played his part and no matter what your thoughts were of him he had given Malky the necessary tools to succeed.
But has this weeks events changed opinions on who would be to blame should results not be not as expected?
Will fans now look at Vincent Tan and not Malky Mackay should things go pear shaped on the pitch, even though they may have gone that way anyhow, has what looks like an undermining of the manager strengthened Malky's status of popularity among the fans?
Personally I feel that Malky's popularity has been strengthened by events outside of his control whether or not they have a direct effect on results.
