It's a song that was sung by welsh coal miners during the 1926 mining strike.
Valley miners stayed out longer than any other group.
IT IS SUNG AS HOMAGE TO THOSE MINERS....
Despite the fact that many who sing don't know its origins ....
The most famous club song on the planet is possibly you'll never walk alone (Liverpool & Celtic)
This song was being sung by fans at Cardiff FOURTY YEARS previous to this chant being adopted by the two mentioned clubs.
I'll Be There is one of the oldest football chants in the world...

From what I can gather, many of the South Wales miners were also City fans, so adopted this song for the games too.

Where have i said it does?
I would be asking similar questions if Swansea did an advertising campaign with the words "hymns and arias" on the bottom. Ive never heard anybody associate this song with you before and simply asked what it has to do with football. You simply had to say "nothing" rather than try to point score on issues i havent even discussed.

Well that's strange as Cardiff fans have been singing it for many many years... "With my little pick and shovel I'll be there."
It has nothing to do with football itself, you appear to be using that as a criticism... Apologies if not, but your wording is hinting at it.
As I say, what songs do actually have a link to football? Not many.

Obviously it's highly regarded as the club use it on tickets, cards, all media.
