A wonderful plaque & no truer word was said "Forever a Cardiff Legend". :ayatollah:

As a youngster growing up in the 90s, Eddie May was my first real memories of Cardiff a City & one of my childhood heroes. :malky:

What's his name?

I second all of that :ayatollah:

Eddie's son here, the family are aware that his date of birth is incorrect but the matter is in hand.

Ace of clubs your offer to get in touch with the club is appreciated but not required as this plaque has nothing to do with Marlene it was put there by Eddie's family.

Many Thanks Paul

Ok Paul,no worries.

Thanks mate. As I said it is indeed incorrect and was only noticed by me when I got home after the Newcastle game and downloaded the pictures of it, I was gobsmacked by how we never picked up on it on the day to be honest but it's in hand and will be corrected in the near future.

At the end of the day though It's the thought that counts. It's been nearly 18 months since Dad passed and disappointingly there has been nothing put there for him during that time but there is now and a stonemason mistaking a 3 for a 5 is not going to spoil it, it's a minor mishap that can and will be rectified.

I have had offers of help from a stonemason in Cardiff which we appreciate and advice on how the best way might be of correcting it from a stonemason here in Wrexham. Once my Sister returns from Holiday tomorrow we will make a Family decision on the best way forward.

The most important thing is, is that it's a fitting tribute to Dad, one he would have been proud of.

We are pleased that the City fans like it too.

As you know Paul Eddie was adored here at cardiff and its nice to see a tribute to him has been placed at the ground.I'm sure Eddie is having a little smile at the d.o.b mix up.
Think he would've enjoyed our performance today as well in beaten our friends from the west.Take care Paul. :ayatollah:

Dear Paul. The stonemason that made the mistake would have to put it right for you

Thanks Ace of Spades. Paul says the stonemason made the mistake, them he would have to rectify it, if not then the company would have to replace it. Cardiff City FC have been amazing in their support since Ed passed away. I cannot thank the Club and the fans enough for helping me and all those that were so close to Ed. It's been a really tough time . I cannot thank Cardiff City enough for honouring Eddie in the way that they have done . The bar in his name, the memorial garden, the gracious way they helped and supported his post funeral occasion .I thank you all . We in Cardiff have a club to be proud of. I cannot fault them. Marlene

:P Yes I'm sure he would he was a vein so and so at times so something stating that he was two years younger...yes....he would have loved that!!

We are devastated about the plaque to be honest none of us noticed it on the way down to Cardiff and it was only once it was hung that I did but we came especially for it and decided it was best to put it up then alter it as soon as we could. That has been delayed because of one thing or another but it will be rectified as soon as possible, it's just a matter of freeing up a day for me to come down to Cardiff to do it.

As for Marlene's (SPANISH) comments about the club I can only echo what she has said, the club have been out of this world, Tessa, Barry, Vince and especially Wayne Nash most recently when we visited have all gone out of their way to make both our visits this year memorable one's, they could not do enough for us to be honest and we will always feel very proud that Dad represented the club and is still held in such high esteem. I am a Charlton fan as you know but will always have a place for the BLUEBIRDS in my heart and as I have said so often before the City fans are second to none, the best I have ever had the privilege of being associated with.

Not sure how many of you have seen my pictures from the Promotion match against Charlton back in April but it was my best night ever in football.
