Rural services will be protected, I think they are going to band the most profitable areas with the least profitable areas. If you want the carrot you'll have to buy the donkey too.

Because far too many people in this Country from jealousy and rather than patting successful people on the back people would rather we tax them for all their hard work.
Successful business people should be looked upon in this country rather than slagged off

How about patting the people on the back who work tirelessly in the NHS/fire service/Police Army???

My wife worked fo Royal Mail for 3 years after she left banking in the heart of the Banking crisis and coming from a target driven private sector to what is really public sector she would say often that there are many people there who are on old contracts just sitting on their hands doing f**k all because they knew they have Union scurity. The none Union members would welcome striking days because hey wouldn't have lazy bastards just looking at them doing all the work who are consantly complaining about everything. Complete 1970s mentality and its the taxpayers who were paying for it all.

No but surely if you are expected to hit certain targets and you fail to do so then should you really be expected to keep your job.?

From what I was told its feasible to the non-Union newer employees but never feasible for the Union membered employees on the older contracts.

on a very simple level yes
but you havent considered age, fitness, disability, strength all that will affect your target for worse or better
also you assume every route is exactly the same none of them are another factor that will affect individual targets
now if you want to manage in the way that this is the target meet it or get fired its very lazy and poor management and id question your ability to do your job rather than the workers below you

Excatly my point as to why this should have been done years ago and not been a drain on our taxes up until now

It's a joke how undervalued they were by the government though. That's £1billion they'll have to find through cuts or taxes now.
