Not really, it was 50:50 as the stats show. Anyhow, spurs have players where most of their goals come from outside the box - see gylfi sigurdson who also smashed your bar from outside the box.

Took a lot for them to beat Marshall.

Agreed. Thats down to him though, he had a great game by the looks of it. More often than not, when you give up 30 shots, you will lose a lot more heavily than you did. It seems Marshall stopped the team taking a bit of a beating.

When he says "another game without a shot on target" what is he including?
In the five PL games so far the Cardiff shots on target stat has been 1, 6, 1, 2, 0.
I think that shows it's just the one game with 0, plus we had the ball in the net in that game...

Well hes wrong in his stat but mot in the point he is making. Take that man city stat out and its pretty damning no matter how you dress it up. 4 shots in the other 4 games combined.

Obviously it doesnt take Einstein to work it out, but It averages 1 shot on target per game. Thats insane.

You can ignore the Man City stat all you like weirdo, but the fact is, it's real.

Ignoring man city would also be insane. The only reason you are ignoring it, is because it doesn't suit your agenda.

It was a league game and counts just the same as the others, so should be included to give a factual representation, not just the twist you want to put on it.

Im not ignoring it, you can add it if you like it turns your 1 shot per game average into 2 shots per game.

However the reason i left it out is because that was the only single game you created anything of any note. It is not the norm, so to establish a trend it would be better to show what the normal performance entails and not the exception single game. But as i said it barely makes a difference and the point remains.

Promoted team in finding PL difficult shocker!

This isnt a debate whether you are finding life difficult or not, it is questioning the tactic of sitting so deep and not attacking when you are giving up so many chances anyway. The only match where you had more than 2 shots on goal - you won.

It just roathie putting in his usual argument.....He puts his point across over and over and over.........

Keep arguing with him, he likes to show you how clever he is........If enough of you want to be his victims, he'll line you up.

To be fair, Spurs pinned us in our half. We played the team who have created the most chances so far this season while conceeding the fewest chances. It showed.

Weve had a tough opening to the PL so far, if we play like that against Palace, Sunderland, Fulham, Norwich etc then I will question the tactics but the truth is weve played Man City, Everton & Spurs at home so far. Man City are looking like a good bet for the title, Spurs look like a top 4 team this year, some will fancy them for a title challenge and you'll never get an easy game against Everton. We took 4 points from a possible 9 there.

West Ham was our first game in the PL and it took us 45 mins to get going. Like last season, not too many teams will pick up points there this season.

Against Hull there were large periods where we were dominating, at one point we had 3 strikers on the field so there is no doubt MM knows when to go for it and when to play it safe.

This league is tough, we knew it would be (the realists anyway). Yes we may be shot shy at the moment but I think we will be a bit more attack minded against the teams in and around us and defensive against the top teams. If that keeps us in this league it will have been a successful season and MM will have proved that the tactics were more often than not the right ones to use.

Ok, cool - good reply.

Guess we will have to wait and see another few games.

Daft in name but obviously not in nature! This is a perfect explanation to the perfectly reasonable question raised by Roath.

Saved me having to type it anyway!
