Some will have nobody to blame but themselves when it happens. All of the fans crying again after they've been warned numerous times. Some are taking it as a serious threat, others not so. More fool them because when Tan does it and its official its going to be a lot harder to revert back. The day the change happens as well is the day Cardiff City FC as you knew them are no longer entered into the record books and are nothing more than a memory. Let that sink in before you write off such a threat with ease.

If you want to support Cardiff Dragons FC then by all means continue as you please. If not then wake up and start adding everything together.

1. Tan refuses to rule out the change
2. Tan praises Hulls owner for the change
3. Tan is obsessed with the dragons
4. More dragon related designs in programmes and shows
5. The appeal of the dragon in terms of symbolism in Asia

You don't need to be a rocket scientist to see where this is heading. Sad that some fans are in denial. If you don't see it as a serious threat to the continuation of Cardiff City FC then God help you.

There's no point acting Ian until enough of the fan base see it as a serious threat. The problem is most of our fans at the moment don't and a lot still won't even care if it does eventually happen, which is a worry.

I think you'll find most people DO care. However, the debate will always centre around how far individuals (or groups) are prepared to go in order to get what they want...

The unfortunate fact is that Cardiff City fans are hugely divided on the colour issue and it would appear (judging by the crowds attending) that this change has been accepted in return for our current on-field success, i.e the Premier League. Although very reluctantly, I freely admit to being one of those that have accepted the red shirts in exchange for the money Vincent Tan has put into our club when NO-ONE else was prepared to do so at a time we were about to go out of business

I know some won't agree, but those are the facts

However, a change of name (and it is by no means certain to happen) would be a completely different matter and IMHO would be too much for the majority of supporters; even given the money Tan has put into the club. We are Cardiff City FC and we are 'The Bluebirds' and that should remain the case

As BU have shown, there is not a lot of point in certain types of actions. However, a sensible and controlled approach via the new Supporters Liaison Officer (or whatever he is called) might have an affect IF it is done correctly and delivered in a non-threatening and conclusive manner

Something along the lines of an early petition (or simple statement) with the words:

"We the undersigned Season Ticket Holders and Members would respectfully register our opposition to any change of name (proposed or otherwise) that would undermine or remove any part of its existing format, i.e. Cardiff City Football Club"

Signees would be required to add only their name and membership number, which could be checked by club officials for authenticity and would ensure that participants were genuine 'stakeholders' in the club, giving the statement both authenticity and credibility

There may be a better way (some clever people on here) but my main concern is that supporters make their feelings known in a coherent and co-ordinated fashion in a pro-active rather than re-active manner this time. It just might work :ayatollah:

Top post Sven, would give added weight with the season ticket numbers, instead of some Facebook page.

Thanks, mate. It would give it credibility and (hopefully) send a message that is actually noted :ayatollah:
