you can bang on about being British all you want problem with that is so are they

so its not ok for them to say horrible things about you (I dont agree with a lot of what they say extremists anyway, most muslims are just normal people) but its perfectly fine for you to give ignorant generalisations based on the fact they are muslim. Interesting what makes you vastly superior?

Nah sorry , immigration has it's good and bad points , but to generalise like that is not good.
My daughter's life was saved by what you would call an immigrant.
If there is a Social Security culture amongst immigrants then I apologise.

Seriously it is about time that we stopped bending over to let every sodding foreigner do what they want in this country. How many times have British citizens been locked up in Muslim countries for kissing in public or women for showing too much skin. Muslim laws in a Muslim country. Draconian to us but it's their laws.

This is not a Muslim country, this is a Christian country with Christian laws. If they don't like our laws then they can f**k off out of the UK back to their promised land.

NO ITS NOT ANYTHING TO RELIGION

/debate.

The Burqa is cultural though, and not a religious item

Who gives a crap? People should be able to wear what they want. We should not be asking for the banning of the Burqa, we should be fighting to wear what we want by protesting and wearing crash helmets and balaclavas in the street to show them we are human beings with the rights to wear what we want.

The only reason white Brits want the Burqa banned is because they've been stopped from going in places like SPAR and TESCO with a helmet on or hood up and want others to share the same fate in having to remove headgear. If they were allowed to continue wearing hoods and stuff in shops nobody would be asking for the Burqa ban.

I don't recall anyone asking for the Burqa ban before the ban on hoodies and so on in shops and before you say there was no Muslims back then or anything like that, that's nonsense. I used to go in SPAR and TESCO with my hood up all the time when I was 9-10 with no problem. They started banning it when I was around 12 because of the increase in youth's hanging outside shops.

Maybe if parents took more responsibility and kept their kids off the streets there would be more trust within communities and so on and shops would be more trusting. Just a thought. I remember the days when your local shop owner trusted you. It was nice. Shame now everyone is scared that some scumbag will put a knife at them and demand their earnings from the till.

Of course lets just shift a larger social issue onto a minority to cover up our own failings. That'll fix everything.

We are a country that likes to portray ourselves as tolerant, so in one sense, there's an argument for allowing people to do what they want.

However, rather than a religious requirement, the veil is more an aspect of a male dominant, female oppressing backwards society that is prevalent in some countries; where men don't want their womenfolk to be seen or to allow them to have much contact with the outside world.

On these grounds alone, we should ban it - we don't oppress our women here.
