Put it like this

All the glory supporters who accept red fully and even mock fans who want to keep our traditional Blue, will be long gone if we get relagated

If the worst happens and we ended up in league 1, there will be a very empty stadium, although red.

The fans that he is turning away from the club will leave in their droves if the name was to change and I just hope they dont come back if they do get relegated.

Lets hope it does not come to it

Annis you are turning into Cardiff City's version of Joseph McCarthy, who in the 1950's was famous for whipping up hysteria against the supposed communism threat to America and in doing so inventing the immortal phrase "reds under the beds" (very apt IMO ;) )which has gone on to become a byword for anyone who is paranoid about someone else's motives.

Therefore according to you as we were referred to as 'Cardiff City Dragons' in an away programme that is supposed to be a tipping point at where everyone joins in with your personal grudge against Vincent Tan?

Not me sorry and I suspect not for many others as I have seen us referred to as the "Welsh Dragons" in many articles in the press or even away programmes well before the rebrand. I have always thought it as a tip of the hat to our Welsh Heritage rather than some impending doom.

McCarthy finally fell from grace and became a joke. His downfall was fuelled by his paranoia against communism and he just couldn't understand why 'others' couldn't see the 'threat' that he supposedly could. Of course we now know that communism could never have taken over the USA.

That's the problem with drawing conclusion from scanty evidence. Whilst you might be proved correct you also have to accept you might be completely wrong. For now I'm giving VT the benefit of the doubt as I can't see any commercial benefit he could gain from changing our name, but one thing is for sure I will never be persuaded by such low scare stories like the one above.

Tony,

First of all why did they not call us this before in previous seasons?
2nd Are you not bothered or worried that its looking like Tan will change our name?
3rd Surely you can see whats happening bit by bit to our Identity?
4th Tan makes a joke of it but comments at the same time, well I personally dont think its funny, do you Tony?
Yes I am worried and this picture was all over FB and was not first put out by me, so at least I am not the only one worried.

I refer you back to my comments about hysteria and paranoia. You are assuming all of the above without knowing if any of it is going to happen or drawing conclusions which may or may not be true.

As for off the pitch what I know for sure is we are a Premiership team playing in a fantastic stadium. On the evidence of the Man City and Everton games our support is well up to the challenge of backing Cardiff City to stay in the Premier League.

There is no way at this point I'm going to turn on Vincent Tan. Whatever he decides to calls us and whatever colour he makes us play in to ME that club is Cardiff City FC with a nickname the Bluebirds and I wear blue to home games. If the club evolves and it's in its best interests then any true fan with the clubs best interests at heart would accept the changes.

We only turn against the club when the 'best interests' are threatened (i.e. Peter Ridsdale) not when the club is thriving. Whatever is printed in an away programme we have to agree the club is 'thriving'

But adding something that isn't there is just unacceptable.

The club is thriving with many new fans who do not care about our History,Identity and only care that as long as we play in the Premier League we could be called dog shit as far as many are concerned, We could be so proud Tony if we still had our identity still there and I know for a fact meetings have been held at our club regarding our name change and not that long ago.

Scant evidence? Scare stories? The club has changed it's 100 year colours to those of Bristol City, and replaced the bluebird with a dragon. Yesterday the chairman openly said 'he is thinking about a name change'.

McCarthyism this is not. If you want to draw parallels, then I'd say people like you are like Iraq's Chemical Ali.

Completely out of touch, and an apologist for a dictator!

Identity for me is a mixture of a number of things... Tan has stripped the club of one, possibly two of those things already.. We still have the bluebird, but it's clearly an after thought & something Tan would rather do without..

LISTEN IDIOT

Tan is not a stupid man

name change came up in an interview because they were at hull f**k all to do with Cardiff City we just happened to be there any chairman could have been asked that question.

Tan gets asked a question about changing the name of Cardiff City, now common sense and common courtesy dictates you dont embarrass or piss off the owner of the club you are visiting, you have to be diplomatic. If he says yes he would he will annoy people here, if he says no he embarrasses the guy standing next to him. Thinking about it doesnt lean either way and of course hes thought about it everybody has thought about it since Hull changed their name

however let none of that get in the way of your daily soap box preaching of how great a fan you are and how crap everybody else is

nothing is clear as day

Tan has said a number of times how much he admires Hull's renaming and how he hasn't ruled it out for Cardiff City...

So the only "idiot" would be the ones totally ruling it out happening.

You keep burying your head in the sand & insulting people who disagree with you, but it's clear TO ME that he wants it to happen.

see you contradict yourself all the time

how am i burying my head in the sand? havent made a choice either way just want a bit more evidence instead of what a bloke who calls himself barry chuckle says

clear to you? who are you to say well as long as I think it, it must be true.

you ignore all the facts put your blinkers on and sell yourself this vision of you are always right

Doesnt anyone have the full interview, would be interested to listen to it all.

Re: Exactly what Vincent Tan said yesterday

There's more proof that he's looking to do so, than he's looking not to do so.

It's not just an off the cuff remark though, is it? There's been a number of press conferences and interviews where has has admired the change to Hull & said he has looked into it.

I'm not saying its true, I'm saying MY OPINION. however, it IS fact that he has looked at it, as Tan himself has said many times now.

so people look into things for many different reasons

you can admire people for lots of reasons doesnt mean you agree with them or copy them

changing the name of a football club is a very bold move and will bring a lot of differing opinions

maybe Tan admires the way he made the decision doesnt mean hes going to copy it

im not thinking anything proof would be a good thing

so people think about things all the time

unlike you I see things from different angles and consider different opinions instead of just charging blindly down the route of this means hes changing the name.

you wont or cant consider any other opinion its your way or the highway which is pretty sad and pathetic
