2.5 mill for a 32 yr old mercenary who wtried to force a transfer to QPR who were nailed on for relegation simply for the money , yes i'm devestated :?

Everyone's happy then.

We get a winger who scores 30 goals in 67 starts at this level. You avoid getting a player who tries to maximise his income. :ayatollah:

5 in 26 last season and hasn't scored since November last year.

Good luck with that :thumbright:

Of course that is one more goal than your new prolific striker from getafe who scored 4 in 29!!!!

But ours is young and only going to get better :thumbright:

Let's also not forget the mighty Luke Moore who you signed at the ripe old age of 24/25 and he turned out to be the modern day van basten didn't he!

I bow to your superior wisdom

Proven goalscorer with experience at this level, or an unknown Spanish youngster... Know which one I'd have preferred... Odemwingie every day.

So much for Laudrup looking for someone who "fits the bill"... Panic much? :laughing6:

I'd have said Alvaro Vazquez "fits the bill" perfectly given our modus operandi. 32 year old mercenary striker who has barely played in 9 months looking for a last pay day? Not so much :thumbright:

I'm sure he'll get you a handful of goals this season in your quest to finish 17th though :D

Well, that's not what Laudrup said originally.. Maybe he had to lower his expectations. :laughing6:

As I said, unknown Spanish youngster or an experienced prem goalscorer with a 1 in 3 record in the league... I'm confident Malky has got the better man.

I'm sure he will & if he does keep us up, it will have be well worth the money. :D

Mercenary... don't make me laugh. Every player travels to clubs that they could sign at, it's just unfortunate that he was caught... All the footballers have said so themselves. If it makes you feel happier though... :laughing6:

1 in 5 and a bit record last year

Anyway, I'm not sure PO would have been overly happy sitting on our bench so I'm sure he'll be better off with you :thumbright:

Re: Why I chose Cardiff - Odemwingie

Thu Sep 12, 2013 10:44 pm

I'd rather go for an overall prem record, seeing as its more realistic.. & that is 1 in 3.

Funny isn't it, you jacks are critical when we sign a player with no prem experience, then when we do, you still slag him off... & go and sign one with no prem experience yourselves.

Maybe you don't like it that your big brother has come along and upstaged you so quickly. :laughing6:

Upstaged? I'm sure you don't really believe that Baz :laughing6:

I'm sure while we're in the Mestalla on Thursday the rest of the country will be thinking "Bloody hell, Cardiff with their 32 year old journeyman and £8m misfit striker haven't half upstaged Swansea" :laughing6:

Re: Why I chose Cardiff - Odemwingie

Thu Sep 12, 2013 10:54 pm

I do. We've come in & everyone has talked about us, whilst you have struggled & beat a couple of league 2 standard sides in Europe at home in front of loads of empty seats...

:laughing6:

Don't worry, the only misfit expensive striker I've seen this season is Bony. 12 mil? :laughing5: no wonder Huw was so unwilling to give Laudrup money, wasting it like that.

Aye, those 4 goals including 1 against the champions so far is a shocking record :o

Damn us struggling to beat those European sides after those thumping 1st leg wins :laughing6:

We're also already 2 points up on last seasons totals :thumbright:

Re: Why I chose Cardiff - Odemwingie

Thu Sep 12, 2013 10:59 pm

1 premiership goal & a couple against League 2 standard opposition...

That would make it 1 in 3 at prem level. The same as Odemwingie... Yet, he's over priced and not good enough...

:laughing6:

Odemwingie also confirmed that bids were made for him by other clubs, including Stoke, West Ham, Swansea and Fulham, before he completed his £2.5million move to south Wales. He said: 'There were a few clubs that showed interest and started speaking with West Brom. I ended up here for many reasons - there's a promising future for the club.
'Early in the summer there were bids from Fulham and West Ham that were turned down. A club from Dubai also came in. In the last week (of the window) Stoke City, Swansea and Cardiff. It was a collective effort to take a decision with my family, my agent, myself. We all felt Cardiff was the right move.'

These jack clowns believe if it wasn't reported on Sky, an official bid wasn't made :laughing6:

Please no more predictions either boys. You said a few weeks ago that we would be looking at hidings from Man City and Everton. :laughing6:

Good luck with your forecasts

Alvaro Vazquez's goal scoring record is not even that good in a league which is a 2 horse race between Barca and Madrid. However Odemwingie is a proven quality player who will make a huge impact for us

Cardiff City star Peter Odemwingie turned down Swansea City to become a Bluebird

After a nerve racking deadline-day move to Cardiff City, taken to the wire by a stray international clearance document, ever controversial Peter Odemwingie has admitted he turned down the Swans for a career in the capital.

But it was all part of a high tec master strategy to feign interest in Odemwingie so you could in fact outflank all of Europes top clubs and swoop for......................................................................Vasquez :notworthy:
