I'd have said Alvaro Vazquez "fits the bill" perfectly given our modus operandi. 32 year old mercenary striker who has barely played in 9 months looking for a last pay day? Not so much

I'm sure he'll get you a handful of goals this season in your quest to finish 17th though

Well, that's not what Laudrup said originally.. Maybe he had to lower his expectations.

As I said, unknown Spanish youngster or an experienced prem goalscorer with a 1 in 3 record in the league... I'm confident Malky has got the better man.

I'm sure he will & if he does keep us up, it will have be well worth the money.

Alvaro Vazquez's goal scoring record is not even that good in a league which is a 2 horse race between Barca and Madrid. However Odemwingie is a proven quality player who will make a huge impact for us
