is there a loan market open ?

We can have an "emergency loan" for a keeper with the PL's permission. If DM is out for a couple of months I think, not sure of the exact rule, and back up keeper is youth or development then we can a keeper in. Only position it applies to. Neil Alexander perhaps?

Neil Alexander - now a Crystal Palace reserve keeper?

Why?

We've got 2 other keepers in our 25 man squad if Marshall isn't able to play at Hull.

Do you have any reason to prefer the Palace reserve keeper over them?

Lee Camp is a very good keeper but has signed for WBA.

I was never convinced with Joe Lewis, Whittingham scored direct from a corner against him when we beat Peterborough at home and the times I have seen him play for us, he's been shaky. He was at fault for a couple of Brentford's goals pre-season and nothing convinces me he will stop making costly mistakes.

Moore is a young keeper full of promise who has already handled pressure situtions for Brentford last season, saving penalties in a playoff semi-final shootout. I have seen very little of Moore, but my mind would be more at rest if Moore was given the nod ahead of Lewis if Marshall doesn't make it.

Of course the player is going to be shaky, he needs a run of games. But I still wish we had Heaton, but you will never have a quality keeper to sit on the bench and not play.

In a way I would love Moore to get the nod, as the word is, he has a lot of potential. It would be fantastic if he turns out to be a winner and challenges Marsh earlier than planned, I have faith in Lewis if he gets his chance though.

I think Heaton was over rated at Cardiff because of the cup run. I didn't think he had much presence at all and stayed on his line way too much for a relatively small keeper.

I would much rather Lewis over Heaton. Can't speak for Moore as I haven't seen enough of him.

At least Heaton is embedded in CCFC folklore now though.

Cardiff City goalkeeper David Marshall has given the Bluebirds an injury scare ahead of their Premier League trip to Hull on Saturday, limping out of Scotland’s World Cup qualifying victory in Macedonia tonight.

Marshall failed to make it for the second half after injuring his hip and was replaced at the break by Matt Gilks.

His injury means Cardiff boss Malky Mackay will be sweating on the fitness of his in-form stopper for the trip to the KC Stadium as the Bluebirds go in search of their first Premier points away from the Cardiff City Stadium having lost their season’s opener at West Ham.

On the field in Skopje, Kechi Anya scored on his first international start before Shaun Maloney secured victory for Scotland with a stunning late free-kick to leapfrog Scotland above Wales at the bottom of the Group A table.

massive loss if marshall is out for hull though

I have faith in Lewis or Moore.

All the criticism that Lewis gets was once directed at Marshall. But unlike Marshall, Lewis hasn't had the chance to prove people wrong.

Cardiff City are anxiously waiting for news on a hip injury sustained by goalkeeper David Marshall whilst on International duty with Scotland last night. Marshall had to be replaced during the win over Macedonia, with Matthew Gilks taking over between the posts.

Of all the Cardiff City squad, David Marshall is the one player we cannot afford an injury to. The likes of Medel, Caulker, Kim and Campbell are all vital players for the Bluebirds - but in each of those positions there are quality replacements waiting for a chance. However, when it comes to the goalkeeping department, we have only free transfer fringe player Joe Lewis and the untried new arrival Simon Moore to call upon.

Lewis is established as City`s number two, but was somewhat of a panic signing when Tom Heaton decided he could not afford to start another season as number two to Marshall. We wanted to keep Heaton, but after he moved to Bristol City - we were forced to bring in cover, though Lewis has barely featured and has been far from convincing in his sporadic cup appearances.

City will be desperately hoping the injury to Marshall is minor, and that he will be fit to take the number one jersey come Saturday for what will be a key clash with Hull City. It is difficult to underestimate Marshall`s importance to the squad, and he has once again been in fine form even at this early stage of the season. Fingers crossed it`s just a bruise.

massively disrespectful of our other goalkeepers that.

Marshall is a massive loss, but we have to get behind whoever is in goals.

Lewis has a 100% clean sheet this season.

Because when he has been given a chance he has looked very shaky. His job as number two is to come in when needed and on the cups he has looked very dodgy as well as in the few Peterborough games I've seen.

Had a very poor game against Forest Green last season but hopefully he has improved since then which was the last time I saw him play.

Our defence need to do a job but ill back whoever is between the sticks , if Marshall is out we have to cope, it could of been Bellamy or Medel or Gunnarsson which would of hurt although cover is stronger for them admittedly

Marshall is a good shot stopper, but still flaps a bit at crosses, and does not dominate his area. Much better than he used to be, though.Heaton was the better keeper. Bit harsh calling Lewis a 'panic buy '. We knew that Heaton wanted first team football, and would be leaving.

We will have different injuries all season. Lets get behind the lads who come into the side.
