Think MM has missed a trick by not signing an out an out wide man with pace. Many of the Premiership teams thrive on pace and width and with MM's reluctance to play Noone we have none. This will make us a bit more predictable to the opposition but saying that some of the signings have been top draw.

Agree with this, we really needed an out an out winger. The jury is still out on cornelius, cant see him making any impact this season maybe next

All good signings with possible exception of Cornelius. Much too expensive for an unproven player from the Danish League

decent signings for our first season
odemwinge will be the difference between going down and narrowly staying up
16th at best this time out
would be over the moon with that

Can't judge the players we haven't seen so far for obvious reasons but Medel and Caulker have been brilliant and young Declan John did himself no harm in pre-season and his one outing at West Ham.
The other side to this is how are the squad players coping with stepping up from Championship level? IMO Taylor, Turner, Whittingham, Gunnarsson, Kim and Campbell have all looked as though they will cope with Premiership football. I still think Bellamy should be an impact player from the bench because he is clearly suffering from his knee problems and I can't see him being able to deliver a full 90 minutes at full pace.
Question marks are still hanging over Connelly, Maynard and Cowie but I can see a role for all 3 during this campaign, certainly from the bench.

Very happy malky has done well

I got to disagree with the bench being weak.
Moore/Lewis
Bellamy
Hudson
Cornelius
Campbell
John
Theophile/Connolly
Plus then exciting youngster below this in Mason, Harris, Amondarain.
Even after this we still have Conway, Noone, Mutch, Mcnaughton and Cowie to choose from.
Cant exactly complain at that.

why do people say things like this?
Injuries yeah, we could get a few injured at the same time, hardly likely to go into a game missing several down to suspension though are we?
Personally i think our bench is quite good. Mutch for example was excellent at the end of last season, and now cant get in the side, Rudy, despite what people think of him offers something different, and Hudson is a rock at the back.

The squad is good... I agree that we could do with a bit more quality in a couple of areas but I think dependent on league position we might do some more business in January anyway...

i see your point, and i am certainly not complaining, but i reckon
Bellamy
Hudson
Cornelius
Campbell
will all be first team regulars and not on the bench that much, just my opinion, but yes i am happy but still cant see much higher than 16th

Very happy, when u think that there are bigger teams in this league we could of really struggled to get some big players in but Caulker and Medel in particular stand out for me,
Think we will be ok this season and survive

The players we have bought are well above what I thought we would have. I thought we would end up like Palace, not because of VT not financing but players reluctant to come here. A promoted team out in the sticks make it difficult to attracted domestic players as our neighbours have found out.
Malky must be good at selling the club. Caulker is the stand out deal for me.
10th ~ 14th for me although I think the Jacks will be a place or two above us.

Wish people would give corneilius a break!hes young and hasn't even played a proper home game yet!just moved to a new country!i think the lad will come good when fit!people having a pop isnt gonna help him!f**k what dowie says what does he know!

Not really. Spent 30m+ and added no really quality to our attack.
4 of the 8 signings no intention of using or for the future.
All in all I am serious worried where the goals and creativity are going to come from.

Agree well chuffed with the signings, although I now think we need a smiley of VT with high waist line lol

I'm not completely blown away but very content with the signings and I feel we have enough to stay up. However it's not going to be easy. Our style of play will be found out and we may go on a losing streak. We have to just continue to give our massive support.
Is it enough players to make me happy with the red and the badge? NO.

Completely agree with you mate! Would have loved Montero or Mcmanaman
But remain excited about the season. 14th or thereabouts would be amazing!

Very pleased with our transfer business annis and think the same as you that If we work hard very game then 12-10th is a real possibility for us, but like many others are saying I'd take 17th in a heart beat,
The only issues with our signings for me is Brayford, I now he's young but doesn't seem massively in mackays plans having not started yet, you could argue that with the new Kevin in he won't get a look in at RB all season however you could argue that neither will be up to Malkys strict fitness levels yet and maybe that's why Connolly is getting the game time as he is up to speed although in my eyes won't be Malkys first choice once Brayford or theopile are resu for first team football and will then be our 4th choice centre back in my opinion
I have question marks about cornelius also but he has been watched or a season so malky clearly thinks he will live up to his price tag, time will tell on this one but hard to see him playing regularly if malky sticks to his current system which I think he will
Odemwingie is a quality signing but I would question why we are paying £2,5m up front with £1.5m add ins for a player out of contract at the end of this season, he wil be good for us and can play on wing as well, I feel malky missed out on his main wingers and decide that he desperately needed a winger who works hard and the bonus with odemwingie is he can play up top as well, I suppose maybe yourself or Carl could enlighten us a bit more on weather odemwingie was sort of a last resort or whether malky was after him for a while? To me it seems that malky missed out on his main targets an that's why we paid so much for a 32 yr old who was out of contract next summer I could be wrong, I think however he will bag is much needed goals at this level so the money will look a bargain come season end
Onwards and upwards

Decent enough signings, reckon we'll avoid relegation by 3 points, hope to be proved wrong, and it's more comfortable..

This. Odemwingie is going to be relied on a hell of a lot and if Malky plays him out wide then we are going to struggle.
Some fans need to get real like Polo. We signed a few quality players but we're missing at least 1 or 2 more.

Whitts has looked really good in our home games so far, and as he grows in confidence, he'll also add more quality to his game
Being his number one fan I would've thought you'de have more faith!
My opinion is that Whitts will become huge for us in the PL and everything will eventually go through him,
And we don't know that Cornelius won't get goals, Frazier has made a decent start and Maynard has something to prove
Come January, if goal scoring is an issue then most likely we'll get another forward in ad send Rudy on loan (just my guess)
I'm holding judgment on all our new signings until 14/15 games in when everyone should be pretty settled and the league has taken proper form.
But I'm very optimistic and trust out manager
