Dear me. You got 3 points man, after spending £30 million on players

Against a team who spent £100 million. It's all relative.

So will you cry next week if you lose to Hull considering you spent 3 times more? Its the league mate. If you cant beat anyone on any given day then you dont deserve to be here. Its about doing it comsistantly.

Every team that comes up gets a scalp, but most of them go back down. Reading did the doubke over liverpool. blackpool beat Chelsea, Burnley beat Man United etc etc etc

Pretty irrelevant and obvious mate.

You implied that because we'd spent £30 million on players the 3 points were to be expected no?

A) No they weren't, not by a long stretch.

B) That win meant more than just 3 points.

Swansea fans amaze me !! first they tell us man city will win by a cricket score !!
then when we do actually win that game they just come back with oh we done it before and now were on a European tour

get a grip so bitter and jealous...

we been on a european tour if you want to talk about doing it before !! and beat the mighty Madrid (as the commentator on the swansea game pointed out thursday)

and as for being years in front of us ?

how come you got embarrassed against one of the tittle favourites your first home game and we beat one of the tittle favourites ?

do it the proper way?

I think you find only England allow foreign teams to represent them in Europe every other country though you are permitted to compete in foreign leagues you cant represent that country in Europe you have to compete in your own domestic competitions.

We are THE ONLY welsh club to qualify for Europe via the English system. When we both qualified before it was through the Welsh Cup playing the likes of Aberystwyth

youve just made my point I suggest you do some research.

welsh cup realistically the only way either of us should qualify for Europe however when we got to the FA cup final there was a huge argument on whether we could compete in Europe the FA said no UEFA said yes. So really if Swansea wants to thank someone for being able to compete in Europe its Cardiff City

Re: Ridiculous

Tue Aug 27, 2013 1:30 am

 what nonsense.

Wales were the only country to allow clubs from other leagues to compete in its cup competitions, this was certainly not the proper way hence why we do not compete in it anymore.

We play in the english system so the proper way is to qualify via the english system (shock horror)

My god there are some beats here this mornign :laughing6:

I know exactly what i am talking about, you dont however by the sounds of it.

We are FOUNDING MEMBERS of the English system. The proper route for European qualification for teams playing in the english pyramid is via the English system.

If you think competing in the welsh cup is the proper way then I suggest you apply for entry to the Welsh leagues and reinstatement to the Welsh cup :laughing6:

Evidence of what you buffoon

As of 2007 we had NO WAY of qualifying for Europe. The thing that was being talked about was a wild card. However as we ay in the english system the only proper way to qualify is through the english system but we must represent england.

If you want the proper way to be the welsh cup then you need to compete in the welsh leagues and get reinstated asap.

These are facts,

Re: Ridiculous

Roathie has made a few of our fans look like right whoppers in this thread.

1. The triangle flags thing is a myth. Read the handbook and stop watching Twin Town.
2. The wild card idea Roathie is referring to is right although to qualify for Europe in the Welsh Cup you must be part of the Welsh league system as they stated already hence why we are both exempt.

Roathie may get the odd thing wrong here and there but he knows the score on most things and says it as it is. People jump on him continuously trying to prove him wrong and instead just fill the board with inundated shite that no one really wants to read and then Roathie gets the blame when he is in fact educating them.

At the end of the day we spent almost £30m in the transfer window and that is fair game and its a fact. We will probably spend some more as well. We beat a Man City team that cost over £200m to assemble and put in a passionate and admirable display.

Other clubs have done it and stayed up or gone down. It was great for us because its our first time back but by God if you are sopping at that then you better get the Kleenex order in fast because you'll be flooding South Glamorgan with your tears if we manage to hit 40 points and stay up this season.

Roathie talks a lot of sense to be fair and the sooner people realised that and stopped arguing with him just for the sake of it to try and win a lolly off the bloody dentist the better the forum will become.

Re: Ridiculous

Tue Aug 27, 2013 2:38 am

In 2008 when we made it to the final of the FA Cup, the question was asked will Cardiff qualify for Europe, the FAs answer was no because we are a Welsh club and if we want to qualify for Europe we need to compete in a Welsh competition such as the Welsh Cup and since neither of the exiled clubs are allowed to compete in the Welsh Cup because we dont play in Wales and the other Welsh teams wanted to have a fair competition that wouldnt be dominated by 2 teams ie Cardiff and Swansea.

In 2012 UEFA made a ruling to appease this difficult situation that would allow Welsh clubs that we can now qualify through the English system but we cannot use the Welsh system.

This brought a messy argument to an end at FIFA where Sepp Blatter thought to solve this situation by proposing the home nations lose their independence and compete in a British League.

The ruling however is in contradiction to many other clubs who compete in foreign leagues such as Liechtensteins FC Vaduz who though competes in the Swiss Challenge League have to qualify through its domestic competition the Liechtenstein Cup (the only competitive competition in Liechtenstein).

So under Uefa rules all exiled clubs should compete in the Welsh Cup however the waiver has been made and we can now only qualify through the English system

Re: Ridiculous

Tue Aug 27, 2013 2:47 am

What a load of meaningless guff.

So like I said, we qualified the proper way, via the english system because we are IN the english system (and founding members there of) :thumbright:

If your club believes the proper way is the Welsh cup then under the decision by FIFA, you must compete in the Welsh league. Look forward to your application, when exactly is it being submitted?
