Plus this lad was the 2nd highest scorer last season behind Bony who Swansea signed. Let's see who's better.. :D :malky:

Lets hope we land this one, then another two before deadline,a winger and another defender then we'll be ok I reckon.

Premiership new boys Cardiff City have been given permission to speak with Eredivisie top scorer and Heerenveen star Alfred Finnbogason.

finnbogason 2According to Omrop Friesland, the Welsh based side have been given permission to speak to Finnbogason, although they are yet to agree a fee for the Icelandic striker.

Heerenveen director Gaston Sporre has let Cardiff know that he wants at least €10 million for the goal machine, and have offered the player improved terms to stay with the Eredivisie club.

German Bundesliga side Augsburg, and Scottish premier league champions Celtic have already had bids of around €5 million turned down for the 24 year old, while Lazio have been linked.

Since joining Heerenveen last summer, for around €500,000, Finnbogason has been smashing in the goals, netting 28 goals in 33 appearances in his first season. This form has carried on to the new campaign, with the Icelandic international currently top of the Eredivisie scoring charts with six goals in four games.

His latest performance saw Finnbogason net a double in a 3-3 draw with champions Ajax, with several clubs said to be watching the player in the crowd.

It is not known whether Finnbogason will favour a move to Cardiff over a stay with Heerenveen, but with the window slamming shut in a week, a decision will have to be made quickly.

Cardiff City has joined SC Heerenveen reported for Alfred Finnbogason. The club from Wales know what the Frisian club wants for the Icelander.

"On Monday we told him in a quiet conversation that Cardiff City has reported themselves to him," says interim director Gaston Sporre. "Alfred should go talk to that club though we prefer that he stays. Our bid is again a bit in the direction shifted from what they want. "

Sporre feels nothing for a last minute transfer because SC Heerenveen then no longer has time to get. A good replacement for the striker Cardiff, the Welsh club who last season was promoted to the English Premier League, know that a lot will have to dig into their pockets, they want to take over Finnbogason.

Earlier laughed Sporre amounts of Celtic (2.5 million) and FC Augsburg commandments (4.5 million) cordial way. "There are two options," says Sporre. "Either Cardiff is seriously either Alfred remains at SC Heerenveen possibly with an improved offer. If he goes, I think of a bid with seven zeros and papers with lower amounts I fold as said a plane. I know Cardiff City too. "

Reports in Holland suggest that Heerenveen striker Alfred Finnbogason could soon be on the move, with Cardiff a possible destination. It is believed that a fee of around 10million euros could be enough to secure his services.

Cardiff City are readying late bid for Heerenveen striker Alfred Finnbogason, according to Voetbal International.

The Bluebirds have already added Andreas Cornelius to their ranks this summer, but they appear to be searching for another attacker.

According to Voetbal International, Icelandic striker Alfred Finnbogason is one of the first names on their hit-list.

The same source has suggested the Premier League side are prepared to offer between €5m and €6m for the talented footballer who continues to terrorize Eredivisie defenders.

Finnbogason is likely to be tempted by the offer from England, but he may decide to remain in Dutch Eredivisie for another season.

The 24-year-old has been scoring goals for fun ever since he arrived at Heerenveen from Helsingborg, notching 24 goals in 33 league matches last term.

Finnbogason is already topping the goalscoring charts this season, having bagged no less than 6 goals in first 4 fixtures. The youngster has so far scored 6 goals in 21 outings for Iceland.
