I believe Gary Medel has to be the driving force behind our success.

Medel signed for City in a package deal worth up to £11.5m, a massive signing for the club and judging by what I saw on Saturday, he demands the ball and looks to be involved in the build up from the very back.

Malky believes he has signed one of the best 3 players in the world in that position of defensive midfielder and for us to succeed we have to hope that Medel is on top of his game and drives this team forward offering protection to the defence and setting up our pattern of play from the back.

It will need a hell of a lot more than Medel performing well.

They need to concentrate on basics like

closing down,
passing to the same colour shirt,
no hoofing from the back,
playing players in the right positions,
getting crosses and free kicks past the front defensive man,
full backs sticking tight to the winger (did you see that welsh lad for Newcastle on Navas?)
no ball watching,
taking the few chances that will come our way etc etc..............

Plus getting in a decent pair of full backs (if Brayford didn't play v West Ham then why didn't he?), a decent winger (ditto Noone) and an experienced midfield playmaker plus getting Cornelius on the pitch.

Where is any talk of new signings? It's been extremely quiet this week... A bit concerning
