If you think providing examples of how non-UK drivers get away with not getting done for motoring offences is 'going round in circles' then you are very much mistaken.

During my 14 years in Recruitment I have been heavily involved in recruitment drivers both HGV and non-HGV. In recent years the amount of foreign drivers in this country has shot up and the likes of Tesco even taking Polish drivers on to cut the wage outgoing only to find that their accident record tribled in 12 months because Polish drivers don't understand bloody roundabouts and many times their truck would go over the roundabout!!!!!!

You mentioned people travelling on two licences which is another con because people only have to apply to have a UK licence on proof that they have a Romanian licence but they don't do a British test they just get the licence!!!! However for the vastmajority in this country they don't have a Polish, Romanian or f*cking Albanian licence so as you mentioned its not fair whatsoever.

During my time of working with non-UK drivers I know all the tricks and have even had presented a number of dodgy non-UK licences to me when people attempted to work for me.

Another issue is the non-UK truck units in this country. The vast majority of them would never pass their MOT and don't even pay road tax so why the f**k are they on our roads!!!

And the answer to this question of yours:
You insinuated that you'd speak to the driver and then he/she would walk away, inferring that you'd still consider employing him/her, if he/she paid the fine(s)!

Each client has different insurance specifications which range from driving endoresments to amount of previous experience of driving the class of licence in the UK. So anyone who has more endoresments on their licence or I know would have endorsements which cannot be put on their licence because of previous poor driving then there's no way on gods earth I would have them out representing me as a person or my company who need to retain their present client base.

You were going round in circles, because you kept on expanding the scenarios!

I have a Class 1 HGV licence and a CPC in Road Haulage (National & International), travelled extensively through Western Europe, Canada & the US!

I have a great deal of experience in seeing the drivers of the nationalities you've listed in action and agree that it's a problem!

With regard to foreign drivers going round roundabouts the wrong way though, this is not a unique problem to foreign drivers in this country, as we have similar problems when travelling abroad ourselves!

I realise that most European countries and especially North America don't have roundabouts, or very few roundabouts, but how many people travelling abroad have problems with driving on the right side of the road?

I can remember coming back from Germany on leave (Many years ago) and being more used to driving on the right hand side of the road, I drove round a roundabout the wrong way and even turned left out of a minor road onto a major road and went onto the wrong side of the road, i.e., the right side!

There's been many fatal accidents down my current neck of the woods, caused by foreign drivers going onto the wrong side of the road, but there's also been many here as well, where our drivers (The younger ones predominantly) feel that it's okay to cut bends on the wrong side of the road as well!
