West Ham 0 - 2 Cardiff - (Campbell x 2)

Nothing to fear but feat itself :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :old:

-----------Marshall--------------
Brayford-Turner-Caulker-John
--------Medel----Gunnarson
Bellamy--Whittingham--Kim Bo Kyung
---------Campbell-------------

SUBS:
Lewis
Conolly
Hudson
Cornelius (should he be fit)
Mutch
McNaughton
Noone

West Ham will go for it early go 1-0 up,we will get an equaliser and it will be 1-1 for most of the game and we will nick it with a late goal :ayatollah:

The main thing i am worried about is the home form they had last year, that place was a fortress last season and is a very tough place to go on opening weekend.

WHU's side looks just a little bit stronger than ours IMO. But if we get Montero and maybe one more midfield or defensive player then I think that we will be just as good as them or better.

This game can go either way but I am going for 1-1.

Going to be a hard game and we are gonna need to get some points on the board ad early as possible

I suspect that you've got 2 out of the back four incorrect, as I can't see Brayford or Hudson starting on Saturday!

I'm not judging Brayford from his one friendly appearance against Chievo, but he had a poor game imo and Malky subbed Hudson during the same game for Caulker, before proceeding to pair Turner & Caulker together for the full 90 minutes against Bilbao!

Brayford & Hudson got no game time at all during the Bilbao game, so realistically I can't see them starting!

I remember West Ham in the playoffs a couple of years ago... West Ham basically won because they were constantly fouling and had a much bigger team than us to bully us and the ref didn't hardly blow his whistle. The team has not changed too much really, I saw them once last season with a work colleague who's a Hammers fan and they were so bad... The second most hoofing I've seen after Stoke (it would be impossible to hoof it more than them...). If we play football well we can beat them easily but they will play the physical game and look for Nolan to come in and sneak one. I think we definitely need Medel in for this game...

This is what I think Malky might go with.

I think Mutch is injured and Gunnar is still working his way back from the shoulder injury.

Cornelius is carrying a bump too.

I'd take a point. 0-0

I think this is the closest to what will actually happen Sat - WHY DOES EVERYONE put Kimbo on the Left when he is a central player?! They are just trying to fit all our quality midfielders into the team without actually playing them in position!

Do you think Malky will pick Brayford & Hudson, considering he played Connolly at right back and paired Turner alongside Caulker for the whole 90 minutes against Bilbao last Saturday?

No, I was looking at the rest of the team. I think he will pick CONNOLLY, CAULKER, TURNER AND JOHN but I would rather him pick BRAYFORD at RB instead.

Fair enough, can't argue with that, but I suspect Connolly will start, as I believe Malky will want his extra height at set pieces!

West Ham fan here..

First of all, congratulations on promotion

I must say, you are a confident bunch :) We only lost a few at home last season and were generally a solid outfit. Us West Ham fans are over the moon with the business we have done this summer as I guess you guys are.

I can see this being a tight game with both managers not wanting to go behind. You guys as it's your first in the league, and us because we would seriously struggle for the 3 points if we lost the first goal. At the minute Maiga is our only recognised striker and in all honesty, he isn't that great. Any way, good luck from your second fixture onward and if those of you travelling to The Boleyn have any questions, shoot away..

Oh, and for those who were wondering, I reckon we'll line up like this on Saturday...

..........................Jussi...............................
Demel.............Collins....Reid....................Rat
.....................Noble....Diame.......................
J.Cole...................Nolan........................Jarvis
........................Maiga.................................

Watch out for Ravel Morrison who'll we'll more than likely see from the bench. He's looked a real player pre season..

Prediction: 2-1

I also think Downing will be a great signing for us and he's fit and ready but I reckon Allardyce might want to let him know that his place isn't nailed down. Joe Cole and Jarvis have both played well pre season, especially Joe Cole who has been magnificent
