Oh yer, I'd love to hear the opinion about our players from someone who doesn't even attend games to see him.

Nugent was good when he played, abit raw but got bags of potential considering his age. I can see him playing a big part for us in the prem in the future, i certainly wudnt cry if he come back.

Sadly they're not. CULT is only about 16 though, so his perceived humour can be rescued. :laughing6:

Dando is only 17 as well

I'm glad he's gone on loan to get regular games. At 19, he can only improve & the raw materials are certainly there.

CBs don't come into their prime until mid 20s.

I remember the abuse Adam Matthews received when he scored an own goal at Ipswich; but even more so from Dave Jones. We all knew Matthews had potential to do well but just needed game time.

The champions league against Barca proved his quality; but doesn't mean he's amazing, he will make mistakes but is continuously learning.

For Nugent this is an important learning curve for him today, and I can only hope he improves. This is why he's sent out on loan to get that game time and gain football match experience at a league level.

Cult you're a Jack clear off

He's a young kid and he will only learn of the mistakes he makes and will get better and I really think he could be a top player in a few years

Yeah because good players don't score own goals

But he's 19 and he will learn of his mistakes

Well that's awful defending

I've seen worse tho, it's all about how he bounces back now.

Don't speak shit at all.

Nugent is raw talent and will really need to prove this season in his time at Brentford.

I think he won't reach the level we want.. a Championship club would have give us more hope on him.

Tbh other than goalkeeper I think CB is the position you get better with experiences. It's a good loan move for him as long as he gets time. He has a lot to learn and how he adapts will depend how far he can go.

Now what you mean but young players are breaking in all the time now.

Not sure I'd call the young man contracted to a premier league club an "inept CB" interesting choice of slander, yet it still remains Nugent is a professional footballer who' at a young age has achieved more than any of us posters/supporters. Have fun in work tomorrow men and remember exactly who gets paid to kick a ball about for a living (lucky bugger)

I won't criticise the lad because I always want to see our youngsters do well. I think he's still playing above his level though at Brentford. I think he's a League Two player, lower League One at best. That's just how I see it though. Definitely never going to be a regular in Championship or Premiership.

 a few own goals at the age of 19 makes him not good enough?!

You seriously don't have a clue.

You should know as the majority of your posts are 'own goals' ;)

Shit post again. All you do is abuse anything to do with cardiff? Your either a jack or a really shit supporter. I go with shit supporter.

He's a villa fan.

May I also back up what other people say in that he is 19 years old. Was Gareth bale a world beater at 19? I remember Paul parry giving him a run around at ninian park when he played for Southampton. I remember he was to be sold to Nottingham forest aswell at one point when he was at spurs. What I'm trying to say is let the boy grow up a bit before you judge him.

False. Owning another teams shirt doesn't mean that anyone supports them.I've never visited Villa Park, heck I've never even went past it. I'm criticising his current play, I don't think he's good enough, I thought he was twenty, his age hasn't be well documented lately. I just don't think he's good enough. Don't throw a hissy fit just because I don't rate one of our prospects

You're full of shit to be honest.

Absolute rubbish, filled in superbly last season when called upon for the Championship winners.

A top League 1 club is the perfect place for him to hone his obvious skills.

Re: Ben Nugent Own Goal

An absolute joke of a thread. It was clearly the keepers fault, if the keeper had called for the ball, Nugent would have left it. Nugent had no call, so as he was in doubt he had no option but to try and cut it out. It was the keepers fault, not Nugent's.
