As for Tescos, I am in agreement with Adam, there's one on City road as well. Albany road used to be the busiest high street in Cardiff and the most unique, sadly other time due to poor decision making tha's been eroded away.

Sad maybe, I try to shop local, but how many buy their fruit and veg from Tescos there? I don't, I make the effort to get them from the (cheaper) veg shop next door.
People like to blame others for things, but high streets just reflect what people largely want.

So do people really want not one but two tescos then..? do people want a million coffee shops and hairdressers..? Thats why I like Penarth Town Centre so much because there are a good few individual shops selling different things and the locals know many of the shop owners on first name terms.

Yes, unfortunately it seems that they do prefer that. It's not an exact science, but shops broadly represent what people want.
I agree with you, I prefer more dynamic, interesting and independent places, and Penarth town centre is lovely. Not everyone thinks the same way I guess.
I don't think Cardiff people value much above money, ease and success. People choose red in the prem over identity. People choose ease of Tescos over independence and interest of butchers.
The way it is, unfortunately.

We have a medium size supermarket in my village. Its not the cheapest. Morrisons have applied to build one of their places there with the other things that come with a large supermarket like a petrol station. I say lets get it built.

I think it all depends where you live really put for them to put two Tescos within 200 yards of each other is a disgrace

Sounds extreme but I've seen it at a few places. There usually is a good reason.

Sounds good but not going to happen.
Basically the big guys are running the show. Cartelism is rife and has been for a couple of decades lately.
