Cardiff City enquire about Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tom Huddlestone

10:13am Tuesday 6th August 2013 in Sport

Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone could be set to follow former teammate Steven Caulker to Cardiff City.

Caulker joined the Premier League newcomers last week in search of regular first team football and a similar scenario could play out for Huddlestone.

Huddlestone, 26, was thought to be close to joining Sunderland last month for around £5m but the deal stalled.

The Black Cats have not given up on Huddlestone but are thought to be considering other options and Cardiff could take advantage.

Would much rather Huddlestone than Mbia, if he stays injury free he would an awesome signing. I would be surprised if he came here though tbh, but pleasantly surprised :)

I don't seem him as the defensive midfielder everyone wants..

I'd love to see him in a 4-5-1 (I assume we will play) with a proper defensive midfielder with legs, along with Huddlestone 'holding' and others with a more free role.

Huddlestone can pass and shoot but not really a tackler or mover. I like him in the right position tho, don't think Malky will tho

Hull City are hopeful of beating Sunderland to the signing of Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone who has also attracted interest from Fulham.
Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas played the 26-year-old 29 times last season after a successful return from his latest injury but he is willing to sell the injury-plagued midfielder, who has another two years on his contract.
Martin Jol, who signed the midfielder seven years ago for Tottenham, had also reportedly been interested in the midfielder, while Cardiff City's interest seems to have faded.
