Serious question.

On this issue YES!!! The business case was for the Sevenside Airport as per stated yet they went against that for a vanity project with our money!!!!

Because i'm sure the owners of Bristol airport would have just rolled over and allowed them to build a new airport to steal all their business

You haven't read up about the Sevenside Airport idea have you..? The idea behind Sevenside Airport is for both Bristol and Cardiff to close and to bring both companies together and build a far bigger airport with better transport links off the M4 which would help make more profits and either could make going it alone.

I see that the idea of a new Sevenside Airport idea is back in the news as further submissions have been made by the professionals yet the WAG want to build Cardiff!!! FFS!!! Do these people have any idea!!!

Can they actually force them to sell? That would be quite funny tbh

I think they can actually stop flights going to both airports if the plan is that good

Although it sounds far fetched, feasibility studies are currently at an early stage to assess the viability of cardiff Airport being utilised as a 6th terminal for Heathrow as Cardiff is one of the few viable options in terms of potentially being able to cope with significant international flight volume.

The idea would involve development of a new high speed rail link to London from Cardiff airport which would cut the journey to just 40 minutes. The idea being that this would not be significantly more than current transfer time between Heathrow and London due to existing congestion.

It's at least 10 years away, but a possibility never the less.

I agree, Bristol Airport is very well run and I would be amazed if they wanted to close in favour of a Sevenside Airport.

That would make sense although it would take an awful lot of investment money.
