Think it is very sad that people have to tell porkies to get a bite from city fans? No one in Swansea other than ML new of michu or vorm before they signed, good players as they are! It is second time this week swans fans have told porkies to get bites, why? ? :laughing6:

Re: Capoue stalling

If Capoue signs it will be absolutely massive for us. If he doesnt at least it shows Tan is backing Malky has he promised he would and the club is showing commendable ambition
I fully expect malky to be wheelin g and dealing all the way up to deadline day.As he said the players he wants at the club should be intelligent enough to fit right into our squad

Weird. Desperate for a wind up?

Not desperate but always happy to throw a line out there ;)

Then name me one of your transfers more high profile than Capoue in the last 2 seasons?

Wilfried Bony - Top scorer in the Dutch league
Michu - Top scoring midfielder in La Liga
Pablo Hernandez - Spanish international and regular in the Champions league with Valencia
Michel Vorm - Dutch International

That wasn't too tricky. Oh, and they actually signed as well :laughing6:

You really have done well, now why dont you go tell someone who gives a f**k,wrong board idiot

No offence but Vorm, Hernandez and Michu were all very well known before they went to Swansea as was De Guzman.

Re: Capoue stalling

People never heard of Michu? He was linked with United and was the top midfield scorer in the La Liga I believe. Anyway, Twitter is hardly reliable. Didn't one account say Capoue wasn't interested in talking to us? Look how that went.

Re: Capoue stalling

Mon Jul 29, 2013 6:23 am

Vorm and de guzman have 15 caps between then for Holland. Capoue only has 5.

Re: Capoue stalling

Mon Jul 29, 2013 6:27 am

Bony has 20 caps for Ivory Coast scoring 8 while keeping Drogba on the bench. And i dont know how anyone can say nobody had heard of Michu, he set La Liga alight. They certainly have signed higher profile players than Capoue.

Re: Capoue stalling

Mon Jul 29, 2013 7:14 am

It seems the clubs are loving Tan's money but not the players.Offering big bucks snd turning heads at board level but when it comes down to the player, they're not interested and fear relegation and the championship.

I think Makay is a decent bloke but he doesn't have the charisma and pulling power of a Brendan Rodgers or a Laudrup . You're aiming too high too soon. You need to survive in the league a season first before these players will take a punt on you.

Players signing for clubs because of the managers charisma? Grow up  it's all about the money, money, money  So far we've lost out on Ince, who obviously wants a bigger guaranteed top six Premier club and Wanyama who went to Southampton for the largest transfer fee on offer. If Capoue ends up somewhere like Athletico Madrid then I would hardly take that as an insult, I certainly wouldn't blame our managers lack of charisma

Nothing wrong with aiming high as long as we have plans B, C and even D which I'm sure we have. I think we will struggle with this one but if so we'll move on and no doubt have already lined up alternatives.

I don't think MM will be the issue though :malky:

It ain't all about money especially when it comes to a newly promoted team who are favourites for relegation. These players you're after are not stupid. They don't fancy a relegation scrap no matter what money you're offering . You're not an attractive proposition at the moment.

As for growing up.We signed Borini, Sigurdsson and Sinclair through Rodgers' charisma and contacts.Do I need to explain it to you regarding Laudrup also?? Who's heard of Cardiff City and Malky Makay outside of the UK?

You're being naive.

No,you're right there's nothing wrong with aiming high at all.Your club and Tan obviously have bucketloads of cash to spend as signing Cornelius and the money you were offering for Ince and now this French lad proves. The clock is now ticking though and if plan A is failing then plan B,C and D must equate to signing players from Brentford and Derby. You've made 3 signings (i think) and to be honest are they gonna add to your chances of surviving the first season? The likes of Capoue will have looked at your squad and thought hmmm,do I really want to go there at this moment in time.

I'm mentioning Malky because footballers are drawn to who the manager is.If you can't sign a player on your clubs reputation then having a big name manager will help.I like Makay by the way, good stand up bloke. But to Johnny Foreigner,Malky and CCFC doesn't mean a lot at this moment in time other than being a newly promoted club who could struggle in the PL.

Re: Capoue stalling

Mon Jul 29, 2013 10:03 am

Agree on Laudrup having charisma and being a good pull as he is a legend of the game.

Rodgers and Malky are very similair though, in style and chrarisma, both say the right things, play the media very well.

Plus, its not like Rodgers signed any "big names" at Swansea, certainly no bigger than Craig Bellamy.

Re: Capoue stalling

Mon Jul 29, 2013 10:41 am

Bellamy 'came home', mate.Nowt to do with malky that.Didn't he originally sign for Jones? I think if Bobby Gould was in charge he'd have still joined you.

Yes, obviously coming home was a big pull but to say it was "nowt" to do with Malky is wide of the mark. Malky used to play with him at Norwich and needed to convince him to "come home" again.

Bellamy already said in his book it was a shambles first time around so the fact he had signed before doesnt count for anything, he needed convincing again.

Who are these big names that Rodgers signed for Swansea?
