Steve Borley - The last survivor

I don't know why SB takes so much flak on this board. Is it because he's no admirer of sam who I believe did threaten to kill the club?
SB kept the club going when it could have died.From what I know it would have been very easy for him to walk and he was probably tempted at times.To reach financial stability and a future have had to come through hammam and risdale and pmg. We now have Mr Tan who has finally delivered these things (rebrand another issue)but we wouldn't have got here without SB.

Nobodys giving steve flack here or doubting anything that steves done for the club in the past, i've only asked one question and he's answered it , im starting to think people read things with there captain birdseye pirate patch on one eye these days after seeing the thread headline and scrolling down missing everything said

Does anything think steve borley will be in the boardroom this time next season, seems tan has been putting his own personnel in there the last twelve months with changes and some more recently, we all know steve has done many of good things for the club over the years and i would say hes the only real city fan left in there rite now. I would like to think he will be there forever but nothing last forever

Maybe Steve won't want to be here for much longer and hopefully will get a decent pay out and be happy to leave to concentrate on other things?

I hope he is given the due respect he has earned. I hope Mr. Tan gives Steve a position within CCFC as he has done with Sam Hammam. Steve Borley deserves this for all the propping up of the club when we were down and out.

There was something on here a few months back about Borley retiring? Could that coincide with the buy out.

I agree grampy, if he does go from the boardroom then he should remain within the club in some role for his many years of service

Not so much a lure its something I was told on the date I started this thread that tan was trying to buy them all out, why I asked steve which he replyed to most of it, sometimes he replys to threads to him some he don't, pot luck.

There was something on here a few months back about Borley retiring? Could that coincide with the buy out.

I doubt he will retire yet tbh tony imo he will still have his fingers in many a warm pies even after cardiff city.

Who knows but i think he might knock it on the head if tan buys him out, does tan have a thing where he can force shareholders to sell once hes got a certain percent of the club as he would already own a bigger percentage than any other hmmm

Great thread this,the thought had ocurred to me too but so far so good.

I think local representation is a must not just for the fans but also for Tan too.

Tans target market is the Far East . Not sure he gives a f**k what the locals think

The way I look at it Ian regarding Steve's situation is that as a director or stakeholder in the club having someone like Tan on board outweighs any disadvantage that is present. If I was in a directors shoes I would be quite happy to go along with it all specially if I was looking for a way out. If I was wanting to stay I would then keep quite and wait for the right time. I would not rock the boat.

However I am not a director but just a fan so my priorities are different. I personally feel the directors are in it for themselves and not the health of the identity of the club. Saying that I can make tolerances for Steve but the rest of them I have no leeway for.

He has stayed right through the Sam years as well as the PMG/Peter Ridsdale asset stripping trip of the mid-Noughties. Ian Duncan-Smith once labelled himself the 'quite' man of politics, I suppose Michael Isaacs could be the Cardiff City version of a 'quite' man.
