The other day in an interview VT definitely mentioned it was possible to make money out of a football club and quoted the 'Glaziers' as an example.

Mehmet Dalman was involved in brokering the deal for Man Utd and I just wonder if he might have mentioned that they were the model to follow and the very first thing we needed to do was play in red?

Tony

I believe mehmet was the obvious choice because mr lim was never going to cut the mustard as chairman. Tan needs someone with experience based over here who has knowledge of the premier league.
I hope they don't follow the glazier example of taking millions out of the club each year through the back door

If that was the case Peter then quite a few subjects on here would only here the one side such as :

1. Sam Hamman
2. The colour blue
3. Dave Jones (RIP)

You will find on here that all the above have been represented by both sides.

So right fire away, or infact start another topic on Carl, Uve ruined this one any way.
As you know I won't be saying where the info comes from, the same as Steve Davies would not say where his comes from and I Respect that.

Annis this topic was about the statement of Terry Phillips in the Western Mail' read my first statement Annis to be fair the article discussed was Terry Phillips article in the western mail which included the naming rights figure. Surely we can discuss what we like in any thread, free speech remember ? And now all of a sudden Mikes board is a snipers board? Aren't you snipping with that statement? Not one word about Carl all I stated was that if there is something in the article then it should be allowed to be discussed . Where have I asked where Carl had his info? there were four people on the thread before discussing the settlement figure so don't have a pop at me saying what I should say or what I shouldn't I've ruined no topic you came on with your paranoia about Carl being shafted again. Every time you go on the defensive you come up with info from the horses mouth so to speak but never no proof If Steve Davies was stupid enough to come on here with info from the board room i wouldn't give the time of day to Steve Borley but i doubt that he would But i tell you what any director or associate of a director that leaks information from the board room especially for their own gain isn't worth a cupful of cold water in my eyes

Why can't people have the sense just to drop subject? and not answer other person whoever is right or wrong has gone out of the window in this debate, especially when people have agendas against people and topics! Very common on this board at moment! :D

So what does everybody think of Mehmet Dalman being appointed chairman ?

And that Langston will receive a minimum of £22m from the deal settled by Vincent Tan ?

Tan has decided the amount and its him that has to pay the debt, not me or you but Tan. It is nothing anyone of us could have decided or paid so why worry about it?

We have a new chairman, hopefully he will be good for the club, so lets give the bloke a chance and see where his ideas take us.

Spot on. The new chairman certainly has an impressive business background and happens to love his football so seems to be a perfect choice. Hopefully less stressful and more enjoyable than his last role as Chairman at ENRC

Its ludicrous to suggest that Sam Hammam did not lie through his teeth when he was
here, we all know he did. So do the Brotherhood of Sam. But they will only ever say
he made Mistakes. So they are gullible. To me that leaves anything they say wide open to scepticism.
When it comes from Sam, the truth will be at best foggy. Borleys a different matter. He just spouts off when he's
pissed (and shouldnt) but nobody really doubts his word

Carl, this appears to me to be a defining moment for this club's history...and a positive one at that! :ayatollah:

Not too sure about the new Chairman but I will take his recruitment by the astute Vincent Tan and his experience in the Premier League as a positive :ayatollah:

With regard to the £22m, the positives IMHO are threefold:

1: The removal of the 'uncertainty' that was the Langston issue, allowing us to plan for the future without the worry of external hindrance and/or threat (and congratulations to all involved for that)

2: The opportunity to allow Vincent Tan to fulfil his wish/promise to 'float' the club on the Far Eastern Markets, which will wipe out current 'debt' at a stroke so far as the new Premier League Rules are concerned

3: In my eyes most importantly, the alleged monies paid to Langston plus the monies apparently available to recruit new players plus the stadium expansion plan all suggest to me that we will need to survive in the Premier League for some time in order to truly 'balance the books' and all of the above suggests that Vincent Tan is here for the long haul and on a mission to make Cardiff City FC a team which can/will compete

We are all aware now that Vincent Tan is a very shrewd operator and like him or loathe him he has not only brought our club back from the brink, he has transformed it into one with an incredibly bright future and after 50+ years we cannot/must not underestimate what has been achieved :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Sad hey.

Yes it is sad, we have 2 factions here don't we? Sam, Carl, you and chums on one hand Steve Davies, Borley and chums on the other and the constant bickering does this forum nor Cardiff City Football Club any good at all. We are in The Premier League now, why on earth can we not all enjoy the ride while it lasts rather than have this constant bickering and point scoring on all sides. All this nonsense with Carl giving news and updates and when he gets it right you saying yes you were right carl doesn't help either because then you have the other side waiting for his big mistake and revelling in making him look an idiot. If Carl or you or anyone else want to give good news or bad or even just rumours that's fine but please leave it at that. What's the point in gloating when you get it right if you cant take the stick when you get it wrong. Bit of advice just give the info and forget the gloating when Carl happens to get things right and likewise try not to rise to the wankers taking the piss when the info is wrong. Cardiff City are at the beginning of a wonderful journey just enjoy it everyone please. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

It's not about factions at all. I don't come on here trying to update anybody or claim to be in the know. My last two involvements were the paul guy incident and just pointed out that the wanyama offer had never been accepted by Celtic. The night that deal was being touted on here and by Jamie on mikes board it clearly stated on celtics website that they had rejected any bid from Cardiff.
As I have said many times before this site is a good earner I would have thought for its owners and the updates and rumours are all part and parcel of keeping that income up.
Now SAMs back involved at the club I would expect the updates and accurate info to step up a gear over the coming season because SAMs past history over the Langston debt shows he is more than happy to share info with certain people

Some would argue that as long as you are continually winning the Premeir league with a large margin then they can take as many millions out the back door as they like. Steve, I agree with a lot of the stuff you write but picking on Man U as a bad example is a bit daft really don't you think.
