They are Smoke Grenades NOT Smoke Bombs, sorry don't mean to be pedantic but
they really are two different things.

I think there could be a place for them in our Football Grounds if used correctly, maybe in a sealed off area
but the way the boys are using them at our matches IS dangerous unfortunately no getting away from it.

Anyone seen a South American game? Or a game in Germany ? There's f*cking all sorts going on. Great atmosphere. They have a right knees up, good day out.

Some people will moan about anything, footballs a passionate game, always has been always will be. If the match day atmospheres to much for you stay home and watch it on the f*cking tele.

so how was the football??????

Love flares/smoke grenades. Back in the 2001 or around that time then I attended a FA Cup game at Peterborough and let of 4 flares inside the ground. It was brilliant, the crowd was rocking and suburb atmosphere. Got arrested at half time and went toe to toe with the old bill outside for manhandling me.

Went to court and got £100 fine. That was it from the courts but got a letter from Martin Perry a week later who was our chief executive at the time and now over looking over training and academy and said before I'm allowed back to watch the Albion then I need to meet Mr Perry in person to discuss my furtue conduct before I'm allowed back.

Stuck 2 fingers up as attended the next season. The report in our local paper made good reading and a section for me :malky:

The reporter said and went on about me as being the life and soul of the party that got the 3,000 Albion fans rocking by not letting 1 flare of but 4. Google it, it was me!

It's football, not cricket, tennis or rugby. The fans are naturally passionate and want to raise the spirits of those around them. You just have to look at Germany, Poland, Austria etc to see how much of a good time they have.

If you don't like it, stay home you boring old fuckers :thumbright:

It's not that I find them dangerous, it's the Ultra bollocks that comes along with it. What's wrong with a proper British atmosphere, the atmosphere that we grew up around at Ninian Park. These days it's as if some fans are trying to replicate the italians, Germans etc. I remember the Spurs game in the F.A Cup a few years back when a flare was set off, the whole stadium went bonkers and there was no need for any Ultra chants back then so why now ?

I don't get the obsession with letting off smoke mind, if people are that passionate why not sing the songs? i was right next to the one that went off at the Peterborough game last year and i couldn't breathe, also if they're so "harmless" as people have said why do when the people who set them off get rid of them sharpish? 1. because they're f*cking rancid to the lungs and 2. you're not meant to have them. I agree football fans need to be allowed more freedom but letting off smoke because they do it in foreign country's is silly.
