Is it not enough that we are so subservient to the English that we accept a long line of so-called Princes of Wales who were born in England yet foisted upon us without us having any sort of say in the matter? Not wishing to have a go at you but I believe that your comment epitomises the reason why we have always been owned by the English. As a nation we kow tow and are grateful for their so-called handouts (If that's what we believe where is our pride?) but fail to take into account the vast amounts of raw materials plundered from us over centuries. To my knowledge I can't think of any situations where a dominant country invades and annexes a weaker nation to the benefit of the weaker nation. I really can't believe that England has our interests at heart. The fact that we are bottom of all the league tables that measure our health and wealth seems to back that up.

The reason we are bottom of the league is due to the councils that run Wales. Who runs them?

It's due to a severe lack of funding to meet the needs of Welsh people left with significantly bad health problems following decades of working in heavy industries like coal and steel and a severe lack of investment to replace those very same well paid jobs......the irony! How are the councils to blame? They are given a budget from the Welsh Government who in turn are given an ever decreasing budget by Westminster which falls well short of the needs of Welsh people. The Barnett formula (and I don't mean Leon Barnett) is out of date and inadequate but successive Westminster governments have done nothing to reform it. How you can blame the Councils is beyond me.

The Crown also owns huge amounts of land and property across the Commonwealth eg. It owns 82 percent of Canada! Although most of the land cannot be "sold", it generates vast income for the Crown Estate via rent and leasehold.
In the world we currently live in, this is surely unjustifiable and the fact that the Taxpayer also bolsters their vast wealth is abhorrent?!

The royals made a 200million profit last year TAX FREE!! Charlie boy came out and offered to pay tax at a low rate on his earnings which goes to show none of them pay any taxes. We moan about scroungers on benefits, but these whoppers are the biggest scroungers of the lot!

They would get my respect if they ploughed some of their profits back into the british economy or the NHS or even our schools.

Yes but did you see Panorama ? the land and building he is selling runs into millions up on Millions and he dont pay a peny on them. Then it was said that he gives 1000s to charity, yes he do ,but he is clever ,cos if get Tax relief for that, and if he didn't do it he would now pay tax, so by given to charity, he don't have to pay on it and he gets good publicity about how kind he is . im not really sure you can call a man who served in the Royal Navy during World War 2 and saw live action at the battle of crete where he was mentioned in despatches also was active during the invasion of sicily where his courageous efforts saved his ship and crew from aerial bombardment a Nazi.
