Collins better than Williams? Nonsense.

I don't believe that Williams is top 5 CB in Premiership either.. That's just showing your allegiances a little too much. He is good though.

Far too error prone, however. Specialises in shite back passes.. Definitely top fine in that dept. :laughing6: Even better than Frank Sinclair

When you watch wales matches when both Collins and Williams is playing Collins saves Williams ass so many times. When we played Belgium Collins was outstanding then got sent off for challenge that was a yellow. At worst and we lost.

Yeah he was sent off, the useless clutz

Yeah but Williams was pure shite slow clumsy kept giving the ball I was at that game.

I also saw that game and by his own admission he didn't play well but neither did the rest of the team. We've highlighted 3 games last season where he didn't perform.3 games out of 60.Believe me,the guy is a top class operator and your biases are shining through here.Once you said James Collins and Hudson were better players you lost all credibilty im afraid Phil. You're prone to posting codswallop on here,i've noticed.

And your not please explain how any sane person can think the Williams is better than Ivanovic, Agger etc. :laughing6:

Re: Ashley Williams...

Sky Sports understands Arsenal are ready to step up their interest in Swansea City defender Ashley Williams as a result of Thomas Vermaelen's back injury.

Williams is thought to be on Arsenal's wanted list as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his defensive options, but their interest cooled due to Swansea's asking price.

However, Wenger could now be forced to push through a move for Williams amid fears that Vermaelen faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Vermaelen has been ruled out of the club's pre-season tour of Asia because of injury and it seems likely he will miss the start of the new Premier League campaign.

Arsenal are short of options at the back with Sebastien Squillaci being released earlier this summer and Johan Djourou moving to Hamburg on loan.

It means Wenger could start the season with just two recognised central defenders in the shape of Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker.

Williams is thought to be Arsenal's top target, with Wenger keen to have four central defenders in his squad ahead of the new season.

Wales captain Williams has established himself as one of the best centre-backs in the country after two stand-out seasons in the Premier League with Swansea.
Swansea are bracing themselves for bid for Williams, with the 28-year-old expected to jump at the chance of a switch to the Emirates Stadium and the chance to play in the UEFA Champions League

He has better defensive stats than both.

Ivanovic and Agger and attacking center backs which is why they get acclaim however as center backs, Williams is better.

Ha if he goes to Arsenel then I fancy him to get slaughtered to by the press after making a few dodgy back passes hell ptobably be back at Swansea after a season or 2 not as good as the Jacks think same as Allen. :laughing6:

Re: Ashley Williams...

If he's Welsh enough to play for Wales, he's Welsh enough to captain Wales. Whilst you might question the ruling, you can't question his commitment to the national team which is why he fully deserves to be captain.

If people think Williams is crap, then your team doesn't have any sort of hope.

If people think James Collins is any good at this level, then your deluded.

Williams is in the top 5 centre halves of the division based on performances, people seem to be vastly over rating players because they played for bigger clubs than us. Bransilav Ivanovic was our best player in the League Cup Semi Finals.

 knew it wouldn't be long before ROATHY showed his face.

Shock horror, people disagree. I don't rate him as highly as you do. He's very good, but not one of the best in the country. If he were, he wouldn't still be at Swansea next season.

Surely he would have an easier time of it at a bigger club as he would be troubled far less often. The fact hes regarded as one of the best defenders in the Premier League and at a relatively newly promoted side speaks volumes regarding his ability which is why at 28 years old is being lined up for a bid upwards of £10 million.

Michu is one of the best attacking midfielders in the league and he will still be at Swansea next season...

Seriously,i kinow he doesn't perform that well for Wales but at the Swans he's a top top defender.

He would have more pressure on him. Makes mistakes at Swansea know gives a shit apart from you lot. If he makes one at Arsenal the press will jump all over him.

Hes rarely made any errors. I think he had two bad backpasses in the space of 3 or 4 games at the beginning of the season and apart from that I cant recall him making many mistakes at all in his whole time with us, which speaks volumes considering hes the focal point of the defence.

The bet players move on after a few seasons. Prime example being I can't see Bale being at Spurs after this season.. They want to better themselves. Has anyone come in for him? Arsenal? Well surely they would spend big for one of the supposed "best in the league" - especially as it's a problem area for them.

Yes, you see them every week. You'd do we'll to keep that point in mind when you slate any City player.

Ben Turner & Hudson have also kept Ben Turner quiet.. Heck, I remember watching Chris Barker keeping Theo Walcott quiet :laughing6:

So Cardiff fans can't call Swansea players crap because we don't see them week in & week out... Yet last time you were here (before you got banned) you slated Cardiff's team as one of the worst ever etc...

Now either you go and watch Cardiff every week, or you're a massive hypocrite.

by you maybe, not by anyone else. hes a rock and rarely makes a misplaced pass let alone a goal conceding error. I can probably think of 3 or 4 in his career with us. that's amazing.

HE had highest pass completion stats for a center back in the league and had most blocks and most interceptions, closely followed by Kompany.

Good thread this and some good points being made by both sides.Apart from Phil Davies who continues to be AAMB's galoot of the year.
