Twist things how you like you had a great start and quite a good fixture list, that gave you confidence ane helped your season considerably.
You had a terrible end after the cup,rob ably because the extra games and the excitement of the cup took it out of you, we had the same problems in years of great cup runs.
This season will be a whole new ball game, you have a much tougher start, playing netter quality teams earlier, how you start will again I am sure shape your season. A bad start will test your nerve and could have the opposite effect of last years confident start. Add to that the Europa games, travelling and playing on a Thursday, then having to travel back and play a fresh team that has had all week to prepare for just the one game on a Sunday, half the time away will be very difficult for you and could also make you drop points that you would normally get.
To early to predict things yet as I both of us could add to our squads yet, we will almost certainly add another four at least, but it is going to be a very interesting season, I can't wait.![]()

I haven't checked but could we play you straight after a Europa game, that would be nice ???

Here's the math:
Jacks = 46pts
7th place = Liverpool = 61pts (gap to jacks = 15pts)
18th place = relegated Wigan = 36pts (gap to jacks = 10pts, which in my reckoning is smaller than 15pts)
6th place = Everton = 63pts = jacks nowhere near
All fact
And I didn't say we were close to 6th. However there is an argument that there is more chance of us gaining 15 points on Everton as opposed to Wugan gaining 10 on us due to the quality of sides, you are looking at it from a points perspective rather than an actual probability perspective. but I couldn't care less either way.
My point was we were nowhere near relegation as the other poster suggested.

And still would have been enough to keep us up, most of that time with a midfielder as a striker and a left back that hadn't played a minute of pre football prior to the season.

My maths lesson also addressed the claim by your chum lj1985 that you were not far off the top 6![]()
As for judging how close a team is to relegation by their points tally, I think you'll find that's how league tables work![]()

It showed that even with no first team striker and an inexperienced left back and the knowledge we didn't need to pick up another point... we still coasted to a 9th place finish.

Fine lines in the PL though, had Wigan beaten you as they should have done before gifting the game you would have been only 4 points off them. But then of course if ifs and ands were pots and pans there'd be no work for tinkers' hands (no pun intended)

Much tougher start for you this season, if you get off to a much worse start and the extra Europa games, things could get very interesting .......

when you are not a fan of either club it is easy to see the truth .most clubs would kill to finish 9th and win a cup.take yr blinkers off and give them respect.they could afford to play pants from march on and still finish 9th

What blinkers? I don't come on here to give them praise, if I wanted to do that I'd go on their site. For them to come on here seeking acknowledgement from rival fans seems to me that they suffer from some kind of deep rooted psychological issue(s)

Liverpool will slaughter you... Bellamy would never come to you... When Bellamy leaves... All your superstars are gone you're going down... You'll bottle it again..

This is certainly not the mouthpiece of our fans though is it. I don't think ive ever heard anyone say Bellamy wouldn't go to you or speculate about him leaving - he isn't rated that highly, Liverpool did beat you and yes in fairness you didn't bottle it this time - but that's the only one that was widespread amongst our fan base.
its hardly the same. even on this thread we have the ''when laudrup leaves'' ''now you have to play extra games'' etc etc its on nearly every Swansea success releated thread
