Peter Odemwingie has been left out of the West Bromwich Albion squad for the club's pre-season tour of Austria.

The Nigerian striker is expected to leave the Baggies this summer after failing to engineer a move to Queens Park Rangers back in January.

Fulham and Crystal Palace are among a number of Premier League sides thought to be interested in the 31-year-old forward.

West Brom get their pre-season campaign underway against Hannover 96 on Thursday.

Cardiff have reportedly joined the race to sign West Brom's unsettled striker Peter Odemwingie this summer. Odemwingie is set to leave the Baggies after falling out of favour following his well-publicised attempt to try and secure a move to QPR in January. Several Premier League clubs are interested in the Nigerian with Crystal Palace thought to be leading the chase for his signature. However, Cardiff have also apparently now expressed an interest in the 32-year-old as boss Malky Mackay looks for proven top-flight talent to aid his side in their bid to stay up this season. It is thought an offer of around £2million would be enough to land the striker, but the Bluebirds face competition for Odemwingie with Palace, Fulham, Hull, Swansea and West Ham all monitoring his situation.

Odemwingie on Cardiff hit list as West Brom continue talks with Man City for Sinclair

Cardiff are rekindling interest in West Bromwich Albion winger Peter Odemwingie.
Odemwingie's proposed move to Al Nasr is reportedly off, with the Dubai side pulling out of the deal after growing frustrated with Albion's reluctance to meet despite two bids being submitted for the striker.
Nicolas Anelka and Matej Vydra have arrived at the Hawthorns, pushing Odemwingie further down the pecking order.
Manager Malky Mackay wants two wingers and has already lined up a £3million deal for Ecuador winger Jefferson Montero from Morelia in Mexico.
Albion are keen to offload 32-year-old Odemwingie and his wages as they continue negotiations with Manchester City for Scott Sinclair.

They've been spot on with our dealings so far. First to mention Capoue, Ince and others. I would have him here.
