If Chelsea come calling for any of our players you think they'd stay? Your point has no value at all.

Feeble and convenient excuse.
End of story. Move on.

I have a feeling that Malky is going to pull a gem of a signing out of the bag that we are all going to be ecstatic over that nobody will know about
Fri Jul 12, 2013 3:42 pm
Also he's shot himself in the foot - no other club is going to want to buy him now either!!
Fri Jul 12, 2013 3:44 pm
As Terry Phillips pointed out on twitter, Malky stated he has about 10 plates spinning at the moment, lots of other deals to consider, Malky is far to professional not to have a back up plan.
Fri Jul 12, 2013 3:46 pm
Agree with most of the comment.
Disrespect to Malky and CCFC
If the attitude of the young Ince is anything like that of Prima dona Ince - we escaped lightly in my opinion.
Onto bigger and better , who like Cornelius, liked what he seen and jumped aboard with the boys !!!
Come on Malky "the magician" - show um all
Fri Jul 12, 2013 3:48 pm
I'm over the moon that he did not have the bollocks to speak to Malky himself. Its cheered me right
up. As it means Ince has no backbone. We've done well to swerve him
Fri Jul 12, 2013 3:52 pm
The only loss is the amount of time wasted on him, pick some continentals up for cheaper. Sort it

out Malky
Fri Jul 12, 2013 3:57 pm
Delighted with this news, that's 8m saved to spend in someone better
Fri Jul 12, 2013 4:17 pm
I just feel embarrassed for the club and fans as we shouldn't be put in the position of waiting weeks for a player to make up his mind and have to think about if he wants to play for us. After a couple of days we should have pulled the plug, makes us look desperate.
Will Buckley and 3experienced defenders please

Quite agree

Quality player. But more of a "big club" luxury player like Zaha. For a newly promoted side, £8,000,000 is a tad high for a player who hasn't consistently performed in the top tier of UK football.
Malky will sort it. Plenty of other options. Thomas comes across very immature after all this. Not really a professional !
Onwards and upwards

I am personally more disappointed at missing out on Wanyama.
Ince. He might have been a good Premiership player but there are no guarantees. There will be other players who might not have his ability but will have that extra desire to succeed.
Fri Jul 12, 2013 5:57 pm
Ok, i understand his reluctance to relocate at this very personal time but he's not the first player who's had to move in difficult circumstances and cardiff is hardly the other side of the planet is it? who will ever know the real truth but i bet i'm not wide of the mark when i say that his heart was never in the move and this was as much an exercise in smoking-out other clubs that he was made to believe (prob by dad) would show their hand. i'm glad it isnt happening, i only want us signing players who are absolutely committed to helping us achieve our objectives for the season ahead, young Ince's heart was never in it, period. Sad that we've wasted a lot of time but here we are.....time to move on. Feel sorry for MM, a decent and genuine bloke who's probably feeling a bit of a mug thanks to Ince jnr. and senior.
Fri Jul 12, 2013 6:05 pm
he rejected us, we move onto other targets... just a bit gutted cos it could of meant we bid £1m more for Wanyama, ohh well! probably same quality out there for less anyway

So he forgot about his child when he was in cardiff talking terms, then when he got home he remembered he had a kid on the way so said no

And after three weeks of almost begging
I just read a quote from Tom Ince
The thought of playing for Cardiff made me wince
My dad is taking out a restraining order
I’d rather stay in the championship, than transfer.
Everyone knows Cardiff will go down ,
That guy Vincent Tan, what an absolute clown
As you can see from the smile on my face
It’s cos I won’t have to go back to that God forsaken place
I’d rather stay at Blackpool with my Dad and my chums
Than move to the Cardiff slums
The thought of playing for Malky MacKay
I’ve got to admit it, I’m Swansea til I die

Spot on. The lad it seems is a Daddys boy. We want men not dishcloths.

What a pathetic response with regard to not wanting to leave - that would suggest that no one explained to young Tom that pregnancies normally last about 9 months!!!!!!
Enjoy another season of championship football and watch that pitch!!!

Kanester wrote:So if chelsea come calling he would have said the same thing? I dont think so.
It's possible he might have turned Chelsea down if he thought his first team appearances would be limited. But if you don't accept that explanation then I still think you have to factor in perspective, we are Cardiff not Chelsea.

How have we been held to ransom? I can understand that time was given to TI to make a decision and he turned us down. There was no haggling over wages etc. from what I understand?
I don't think we were held to ransom and there's no blame attached to MM instead its TI wimping out, end of.
We gave him far too much time and respect that wasn't afforded back. Obvious he wasn't going to sin, now the club and the manager look a laughing stock over a player who has done nothing n football.
That is still not holding CCFC to 'ransom'
It is a matter of opinion what giving "far too much time and respect" is. I personally think that MM played it right being understanding on the eve of the birth of TI's first child.
If your point is TI was a complete wimp getting his Dad to tell MM instead of doing it himself, then yes you would be correct.

Shows he is not a man when he can't call himself. As for the baby excuse/reason- utter bollocks. He's been in the game all his life as has his Dad.
I hope there is another reason - otherwise he's got no class at all.
I think Malky, as always, has handled himself well.

Just had a baby, family changes.
His Dad is his Manager, and might have influenced him for his own agenda.
We are a new club in the Premiership, an unknown quantity, come to us could be seen as a risk.
And finally with his Dad as an experienced ex player, he may consider financially the best option for his son is to run down his contract amd maybe get a massive signing on bonus, and possibly with a much bigger club.
All in all, I can see why he decided to wait and see, it's not Malky's fault, this was probably not the right time for Ince, that's life, maybe it wasn't to be, sometimes you miss out on one opportunity and find a better one just around the corner

Onwards and Upwards, lets keep positive ......
(He's still a prick though

)
If this is the reason I bet blackpools chairman isn't happy. Ince jnr walks for free end of season, ince senior sacked for allowing sentiment come before professionalism.
